This is my sisters'... When the family went on road trips, we would always see water towers. My sisters, upon hearing that they were water towers, always thought that they were giant water fountains, so they always begged my dad to climb up the water tower and get the family some water.

When i was three, i thought freezer shelves in the super market were giant popsicles. i figured out i was wrong when i got my tongue stuck on the shelf when i tried to lick it! :-p

When I was about 3 to 7, I was always careful when I got on escalator because my Dad told me, that at the top, if I didn't jump off really fast then I would get sucked into the escalators.

To this day I'm careful on escalators.I'm 10. but now it's because at the mall with my mom once I accidentally stretched really far. One foot was on the escalator the other was on the ground!

Scared of escalators!

When I was about 5 I used to beleive the cracks in the sidewalks were cuts, so I would put all the bandaids I could find on them so they could heal.

Ice Cream Vans
As a child I was informed by my mother that all ice cream vans only sold cigarettes in the evening,so I was wasting my time asking for one when I heard the tinkling music after tea. I still half believe this to be true.

whenever i saw a 'to let' sign outside a property i used to believe there was a toilet for sale, and marvel at the large numbers of adults who had difficulties spelling such a simple word!

When I was younger I used to think the Parcel Force were a van full of people that came to your door and forced you to have parcels. I used to be petrified when I saw the van in our street in case they forced me to have a parcel I didn't want.

my big brother and his friend Once told me when I was about 5 that if you didn't hold your breath while passing a grave-yard the Dead guys would come and haunt you.

To this day it is a tradition for me my big brother and my other brother youger than he first one but older than me, to hold our breaths while passing a grave-yard. Because of my best friend I now hold my breath while passing over bridges, and I put my hand on the ceiling of the car while passing Under a bridge. I am 10-years old.

When we were kids, my sister Sarah and I used to go to this office building on Main Street and ride the elevator up and down. Sarah told me that if I didn't bend my knees in the elevator, when it reached a floor the stopping motion would shatter my kneecaps. To this day I still bend my knees in elevators!

When i was little i used to think that every house owned a street light and every time someone turned their lights on in their home, the street light they owned turned on at night and when it wasnt on someone was out of their house. It did confuse me when the lights were kept on during the day.

I used to believe…

whenever my mom & i would go to the library, she'd always have to pay her overdue fines when we checked out our books, so i thought you had to pay to check out books at the library!

When I was little I was afraid to go to Business Depot with my mom and little brother. It sounds stupid, but when my mom said Business Depot, I thought she said Mrs. Depot and at that time I was really shy and I didn't want to visit some old lady. :P

In certain waterparks, they'll be a "lazy river", which is basically a slow-flowing "river" which flows around or through the park. It's about four feet deep and very popular with the elderly, and parents with young children. Well, when I was about four years old, my cousin (five at the time) told me that the grates at the bottom held sharks that fed on toes. Ever since then, i've always lifted my feet above the grates.

When I was growing up, we would pass what I had assumed to be a playground for adults everyday on the way to my preschool. They looked like so much fun, and I couldn't wait until the day I was old enough to play on these upscale jungle gyms. It wasn't until I was about seven that my mother crushed my dreams by informing me that these were not playgrounds, but instead electrical substations.

I was a really morbid child because till I was about 6 or so I refused to drink tap water unless I was forced to because I thought they kept all the dead bodies in the water tower to mummifiy them. One too many horror films....
