Ice cream vans only play music when they've run out of ice cream

My Dad told me that Ice Cream vans played music to say they'd run out of ice-cream. I didn't have an Icream til I was twenty three cos of him

when I was about 5 my uncle told me that the ice cream truck was from the orphanage comming to take me away. When I eventually realized that it wasn't the orphanage truck he told me they only played music when it was sold out of ice cream. I only dicovered the truth when I was in my teens.
