I used to believe…

When I was around six or seven, I asked my father what air was made of. He told me, straight-faced, that it was made of whipped egg whites and raisins.

Around same time, my brother asked what owls were made of, to which he answers 'popcorn and juice'

I never really got his sense of humor back then...

I used to think "Qui" was a name!! XD

I used to believe that Henry Winkler (who played The Fonz on that old show Happy Days), was called Henry WRINKLER. I thought this was an incredibly odd last name.
I actually debated this one with my mom, when I told her that Henry "Wrinkler" was playing in that Adam Sandler movie, "Waterboy"- it took her forever to convince me otherwise...

I used to believe…

When I was a kid my parents were going to take me to see Cheech and Chong's Up in Smoke. I did not know who they were or what the movie would be about. I asked Dad and he said they were a couple of 'clowns' that ran around smoking pot and running from the cops. Oh how I was disappointed when the movie started and they did not look like Bozo or Cookie. I really thought they would be clowns. :-(

I used to think I was the prettiest girl in the world and I felt really guilty for it.

i used to believe that black people were made from chocolate and i saw some running one day and they were sweating and so i announced very loudly "look mummy they're melting" CRINGE!

I used to think children had children's names and you would get a grown up name when you grew up. Or, i believed that grownups were born grownups and so they got their grown up names from the start. One or the other... i was always surprised when a woman had a name like lily of emma or jennifer. I would think, hey, she's got a child name, how strange.

I used to believe that men were only attracted to women with blonde hair and blue eyes and I felt I very lucky because I had blonde hair and blue eyes. The reason men married women with other colouration was because they either had bad luck marrying women they were attracted to or because they got tired of waiting around for a woman with blue eyes and blonde hair to be attracted to them in return and so the men opted into marrying someone else.
I don't have blonde hair and blue eyes anymore but rather green eyes and brown hair.

When I was VERY little, which was long before Eminem, I used to think that only black people could rap. My theory was that their larger lips would bounce together to help them talk so fast.

When i was a kid i used to believe that my dad was He-Man. I thought this because he would tell me so, and hide behind the door and scream "By the power of Greyskull!". When i would run to open the door it was just my dad, but he said "oh, you came too late. I've already transformed back into me"

I never believed it completely, but the was always some doubt left lingering.

I used to think that when you got older you got an "adult name" like you'd go having a name like Billy to James or something. im still kind of sad that I did'nt go from Dee to Diana :)

I used to believe…

Around 4th grade I got hair long enough to shove behind my ears. My mom used to yell at me about it all the time. There was a Greek girl in school who had long, thick straight black hair... and she happened to have ears that stuck out like crazy. My mom saw her and said if I kept putting my hair behind my ears they would end up like her's and I believed her! I stopped doing it until I was older and knew better.

I was a weird kid...when I was 8 I thought that if I said something it would come true. And I figured that the only way that could happen was if I was transported to an alternate universe where the thing was true. Except then I would have alternate parents and everything, and it wouldn't be my real origonal life. Also, I thought that I would forget that it was ever different than it was, because my brain was also modified (so conveniently there is no way to prove myself wrong.) So I was afraid of saying any untrue statement and NEVER lied .... :P

When I was younger my Mom told me and my older sister that if we lied she could see the devil in our eyes. Whenever we'd lie we would check each others eyes to make sure he wasn't in there.

when i used to pull faces when i was little and my mom caught me she would tell me that "if the wind blew in the wrong direction that my face would be stuck like that" i still believed it until i was about 12 and auctually thought about it! :)
