one of my best friends used to belive when she was a little kid that people were born with the faces they currently had. When she was in public with her mom she pointed to an elderly lady and said allowed "I'm sure glad I didn't turn out with an ugly face like that old lady Mommy,".

My Friend told me once that he was in a minor car accident with his 7 year old son in the passenger seat. My friend got out the car to swap, name, insurance details, etc and then got back in the car and drove off. His son later asked what he was talking to that man about in the other car and my friend replied, 'we just swapped names and things'. his son then went all quiet and then asked..... 'so what are you called now then dad?'

When I was at Primary School (in the UK) about 8 years old I wanted a girl's sherbret dip (candy) and I had some glitter in a small tube. So I told the girl my glitter was 'Christmas sherbert', she believed me and gave me her sherbert dip in exchange...boy was she mad when she took a mouthful of the glitter!
I used to think only boys could have short hair. The first day of first grade I saw this kid with short hair going in the girl's bathroom and said 'hey, you can't go in there' thinking it was a boy. I felt DUMB. Of course it was a girl, and weird thing is, she ended up becoming my first best friend.

since your birthday isnt on the same day (like it isnt always on a wedensday or thursday it changes)
i thought your birth date changed too...
at about 6 i asked mum if i was born on thursday (because thats when my birthday was that year)
she said no it was monday or something so i fidugered that since it was six years ago i was born on the 20th of july instead of the 26th... so that next year my birthday would be on the 27th then the 28th and so on...
i remember being so excited that eventually my birthday would be at christmas!!! (withouht realising id be about 200 years old but then again i was 6)

My parents used to make me believe that if you lie to anyone (especially your elder) then you would go to hell and the demons would cut out your tongue.
I didn't care though ;)

My teacher was telling us a story about how when she was 5, since her birthday is October 10th...10/10, she thought everyone's birthday was like her's. For example, 5/5(May 5th), 6/6(June 6th), 7/7(July 7th), and so on.

When I was about 4 or 5 I thought you had to have your party on your birthday, and got confused when I'd been to a friend's party and was told it was her birthday a week later...

It wasn't until later in life that I found out that not everyone had a birthday bird who delivered the gifts to their home on their birthday.

Back in second grade, I remember the teacher asked us how old we were and most of the girls answered 6 years old or 7 years old. I sat back to think about what I would say. “Well,” I thought, “last year Mom said I should answer ‘aimaz’ if they ask my name and say ‘I am 5 years old’ if they ask for my age. Yes, I am still aimaz,” I glanced down at my small self, “I think I am still five.” I looked up and the teacher’s smile melted my six-and-a-half year old heart.
“Five years old,” I said with a voice that squeaked out from somewhere near my knees.
I'm not sure how old I was but when I was pretty little my sister showed me a joke where you push your hands up against your face and say something like "Hi! I'm chubby. My whole family's chubby..." and some other things but I loved the damn joke so much I went around saying it for the rest of the week until my dad said that if I did that to my face anymore then it would stick like that!! And I believed him for a long time.

My parents are really liberal and always taught me that racism was bad and everything like that.
Unfortunately it had the consequence that I was really frightened of talking to non-white people until I was about 9 or 10, because I was scared I'd say something that could make me seem racist.
Also, I never used the word 'black' to describe somebody. Like there'd be an actor on TV and I'd be like "What else has the tall guy with the dark hair been in?" because I didn't want to seem racist by calling him black.

I used to believe that if a girl thought that you were a boy and you weren't, you would automatically become a boy, because 'girls knew everything'.

My mom's last name starts with an N, but because of her Southern drawl, folks hearing her spell it out sometimes think that N is an M. So to clear up confusion, my mom always started spelling her name by saying "N as in Nancy..." Only, I was confused, and decided that my mom's middle name was really Enasinantsy. I named my teddy bear Enasinantsy after my mom, too.
I used to believe that every kid with a loop of hair at the back of his head was named Luke. Who knows why...

When I was younger, I thougt that Benadryl was only for my brother, whose name is Ben. I thought that if any other person took it, they'd turn into my brother. Imagine my horror when my mother tried to give me a spoonful one day..!

My older brother's nameis Michael and we call him Mike for short. So when I asked my mom what the fat thing plugged into the wall with a door was, she answered, "That's a microwave." I was heartbroken, and angry that my brother had a kitchen appliance named after him but I didn't!
I thought a teacher's last name was their first name. Since my teacher's names were, Mrs. Zen, Mrs. Murry, and Mrs. Francis I thought their names were in fact, Zen, Murry, and Francis.
I concluded Mrs. Francis had the only normal parents.
