I used to believe…

When I first read this website, I believed that "Anon" was someones name, and that he was making up funny bits to put on the website... I was thinking about writing into the editor of the website telling them to stop letting "Anon" write in the website.... then one day I realized it was Anonymous....

When I was about 7 (in the '70's), one of our neighboprs had one of those metallic gazing balls on a pedastal in their yard. My brother told me if i touched it, it would explode. I spent many days waiting for the neighbors to leave and then creeping up to the ball in order to test the theory. I never did get up enough nerve to find out if it were true. In fact, to this day, I've never touched one.

I was 2 weeks late, I was supposed to be born on Feb. 29th (it was a leaper year). I knew leaper year came every 4 years, so I assumed I was REALLY lucky I was late, cause if I was born on Feb. 29th I could only have a birthday every 4 years... So 4 years were equal to only 1 Year for me.

Before kindergarten I think it was, our family went and stayed at a hotel, and I have no idea why. Why we were there, there were these twin girls, and I thought that if I looked at them, my face would start to look like theirs, but when I went underwater, My face was normal.

I used to think I was the only person in the world with the name Jessica Pauley and the initials JP. When Jurassic Park came out, I thought it was so neat that we had the same initials!

I'm the youngest of 6 kids, and one of my brothers told me that I was such an ugly, bad baby that mom had her tubes tied the day I was born. I called him a liar, so he shouted, "MOM! Didn't you have your tubes tied when she was born so you couldn't have any more kids?" and she said "Well, yes." He teased me about it for a year. (Later, when we were in our 20s, we told our mom the rest of the story, and she was horrified!)

All the mirrors in our house were up high so the adults could see in them and I never needed one so I never realised I was more then just two eyeballs floating in mid air until I was tall enough to happen to catch my reflection in the mirror while bouncing on the couch one day. I scared myself so bad I actually wet my panties.

My parents had a grouchy friend named Don. So when I discovered that my middle name was Dawnielle, I thought I was named after him and that it was spelled D-O-N-Y-E-L-L.

My older sister told me that eating potato chips would make me pregnant.......and I was afraid to eat them. I actually believed her until I was 10yrs old and realized she didn't know everything.

I found a picture in a magazine at my grandma's of the graduating class at Clown University. I cut that picture out, carried it around with me everyday, and hoped that one day, I too, could attend clown school.

I used to believe that clowns didn't have voices and couldn't talk. I also didn't realize that they weren't born clowns. I wanted so badly to have a clown as a pet. He could live in the garage and we would communicate through sign language.

I used to have really long hair, so when I finally decided to get in cut in 3rd grade, I was told that the girl that would cut my hair's name was Cindy. My mother had a horse named Cindy, and I pictured the horse in a cape behind me cutting my hair.

I thought that the term "smarter than she looks" was a compliment. Imagine my surprise when I said that 'compliment' to my teacher's friend.
