I used to believe…

Let me just start off by saying when I was little, I was a weird kid. I was like 8, and I wanted all the boys to like me, even way older ones. For some reason(I still don't know why) I thought it was like super sexy to stick out my tounge. So every time we went somewhere and there were guys around, I would stick out my tounge (not too far out) and try my best to look at them in a really seductive way! It took me a long time to figure out why they looked back at me like I was a freaking pervert/weirdo! Imagine what those people were thinking!

When I was six, I asked for and received a Lighted Makeup Mirror. From the commercials that showed a woman seeing herself in the mirror at different times of day, I believed that I could look in the mirror and magically see myself dressed and made up for "Home" "Office" "Evening" and "DayTime". How disappointed was my six year old self to see that it was only the light that changed, not me!

I believed for several years that the purpose of socks was to make it easier to put on trousers. Your bare feet would rub up against the trouser legs and stick to them, necessitating more effort to get them all the way through. Socks would just slide past.

When I was little I used to think that Charity was a woman who wanted everything for herself. I always thought it was weird that people kept giving things away to Charity when she already had all this stuff!

My gradma has a sister named Bernice, who is called Bunny for short. As a child, I did not understand that Bunny could be a name. I thought it must have something to do with rabbits. Until the day I learned that Aunt Bunny had been married three times. I proudly exclaimed to her: "Now I know why you're called Bunny! You hop from man to man!"

when my cousin was little we used to tell her she had a blue dot on her forhead when she lied so when she wanted to lie about something she would actually cover up her forehead with her hands!

i used to lie all the time when i was younger and my sister would say "swear on mum and dads life then" and i thought that they would die for me not telling the truth, that was the only way she could catch me out.......

Ok to start off I'm Black but when I was lil' my pre-school teacher asks all of us to tell the class something special about ourselves. I was a fairly light baby at birth ALMOST could be confused as white. And my mom had showed me a pic of when I was lil and said that I really used to be really "light." So I sat there with a grin on my face waiting for my turn and it finally came to me. And I proudly with a huge grin and stated: My mom told me I used to be white but then I turned black. I still remember the look of amazement of all my classmates. The teacher later had a lil chat with my mom and she promptly straightened everything out...my bad.

When i was very young i was a little scared of clowns (exposure to Stephen King's 'It' at a young age probably didn't help!) Anyway, one time my dad took me to McDonalds and unbeknown there was a guy entertaining kids dressed as Ronald McDonald. I was happily munching my food when i saw this scary-ass clown running towards me and he loomed down on me to pick me up. Convinced i was about to meet my maker i started to scream and cry and french fries went everywhere. there are photos(!!) of this incident ...I hate clowns.

When I was about 4 I asked my older brother who was about 7 why magic markers were called magic markers. He told me that if you ate the tips of them you got magic powers. For some odd reason I thought it only worked once and was convinced that my mom heard me after I ate the green "invisibility" marker and then the "walk through walls" blue marker didn't work because i didn't eat it all. It took the yellow "you can fly" marker for me to learn he was a liar. Lets just say jumping off of the play house didn't go to well.

My 4 year old daughter was outside wearing a new pair of jeans playing with her older brothers and sister. They were playing in the water so her pants got a bit wet. She pulled up one pant leg only to find that the dye had begun turning her leg blue. Her older siblings then convinced her she was turning into a Smurf. She came screaming into the house hysterical, crying "I don't wanta be a smurf I don't wanta be a smurf" Her siblings were rolling on the ground with laughter. It was pretty funny.
