When I was in 1st grade my friend and I went to latchkey before and after school. Well in the mornings there were these 2 kids from another school that would go to our latchkey program because they didn't have latchkey at their school. Their school was also a church and it was called, "Christ the King". When it was time for them to get on the bus to their school in the mornings the latchkey teacher would say, "Christ the King you have to go out to your bus." Well when the teachers said "Christ the King" my friend thought she was calling their names, and thought the two kids names were Christ and King.

When I was little, for some odd reason I used to think that when you got your ears pierced, it was this big medical process. You had to go to the hospital and then they put you in a hospital gown and strapped you to a board that took you through a machine and when you came out the other side, your ears were pierced...how they were actually pierced was beyond me.

when my brother was little my mom would have the hardest time trying to get him to keep his shirt tucked in. One day we were getting pictures done and he kept untucking it so my mom told him that if he didnt keep his shirt tucked in he would get a hernia. My dad had just had a hernia operation so we saw how much pain he was in. He never untucked his shirt again until he was about 14 and learned the truth.

When I was just about in kindergarten, I was at the park with my daycare when a group of older girls told me that if you went to California, doctors would sew your private parts shut so you couldn't go to the bathroom, and all the waste would store up inside you until you popped. I believed this wholeheartedly because they were older, and older kids (in my mind) never lied. Imagine my poor mom's surprise when she asked me if I would like to go on vacation to California and I bawled my eyes out! I was immensely relieved when she told me it wasn't true, and I announced it to the older girls at daycare the next day. I still have a good laugh about that one.

When I was a kid there was a joke about people wanting or missing "Amanda Hugginkiss," which was supposed to sound like, "A man to hug and kiss." I did not understand this and kept wanting to know who this Amanda was.

Finally, one of my friends who had repeatedly tried to tell me that this was a joke when I asked her who this "Amanda" person was that everyone seemed to know but me, told me, "Look, never mind, she used to go to this school, okay?"
Years later, I figured it out.

When I was not quite two and my mother had just finished changing my (cloth) diaper, I told her "Now Mommy lie down. I change Mommy." I believed that all adults wore diapers, just as I did. I thought the toilet was for washing them out.

When I was about seven years old, my cousin convinced me that my "real" cousin and her best friend had been abducted by aliens when they were younger...and she said that she was my cousin's "alien" replacement... It took me a few years to figure out that she was lying to me!!

He also explained that our computer was having trouble because his baby brother had drooled on the keyboard. I half believed him for a while.

When we would go to resturants for my birthday, and the end all the waiters would come out with balloons and a sundae and sing. I was amazed by this, and thought every restraunt in the world had my birthday marked on a special calendar in the kitchen. I suppose it never occured to me that my dad was telling them. I thought I was royalty or something.

At school we had a display board to show everyone's birthdays in the class (it was a picture of a train and you all had to draw a pic of yourself to stick on it). I was devasted when my teacher said that mine was on May 11th cos that was the date it had been on the year before! I thought you could choose and that my rights as a child had een totally violated!!! LOL!

there was a guy at my church whose eyebrows were pointy so it looked like he was angry all the time. My sister and i believed that he was in fact angry all the time and we named him "the angry man".

I have known my best friend for about 20 years but when we first met I couldn't stand her. I thought I was quite a clever child and I knew that 'twins' meant 'identical' so I was always angry with my friend because she used to say she and he brother were twins and I knew that was a lie because she was a girl and he was a boy. I couldn't understand why she lied so much or how she thought anyone would believe her!

Last week I was looking around this website. I was reading some of the confessions, and having a good laugh. At the bottom of some of them, it said 'Anon'. I thought that it was a name, and 'Anon' had loads of embarrasing moments! Then, I was proven wrong when I realised 'Anon' kept switching from a Male to a Female and back again! I finally found out it meant 'Anononymous'. My mum still teases me about it.
