My middle name is Elizabeth, and while I like that name now, I thought it was horrible as a young child. It was a disgusting name, and I was so embarrassed by it that when people would ask what my middle name was, I would say I didn't have one.

When I was little, my older sister had braces. I remember thinking that they were jewels that grew on her teeth, and they were sooo pretty. I wanted jewels to grow on my teeth, too.

When I was little, I used to think that your appearance was based on your name. Like, for instance, all of the people named Sarah would look alike. I based this on the fact that my aunt, whose name was Barbara looked like Barbara on "One Day at a Time." My mom explained to me that Barbara was just a character's name and that the actress' real name was Valerie. I didn't really understand, but I then decided that I wished my parents had named me Valerie so that I would grow up to look like Valerie Bertinelli

I used to think "Anonymous" was an ancient Greek philosopher (I guess I was confusing it with Aristotle), and that he came up with a lot of different ideas. I was ten years old before I found out differently.

in 2nd grade we took a test to get into the GATE program (gifted and talented education) on all my info after getting into the program my name had a @ sign at the end. My name is Samantha so i thought that the office thought it was a cool way to write my name. With a @ sign instead of an A. I thought I was so special.
I was reading this site and I was thinking, "Wow, this guy named Anon sure had a lot of weird thoughts!" until I read the other people's beliefs who thought the smae thing! How could I be so dumb?? (anon stands for anonymous)

I used to think that you had a child's name and an adult's name, and although your parents chose your child's name, when you grew up you could choose a new grown-up name.

THe first time I watched Steven King's "IT" <Probably with all Steven King movies> I couldn't sleep for weeks or rarely took a bath. Partly cause if I went to sleep, IT would come and eat me, or he would come out of the bathtub facaut like it did in the movie. Paranoid of clowns ever since...

My best friend from elementary school told us the funniest lie when we were kids, but we all believed it at the time. She was a really tiny girl, short and skinny. It was her distinguishing characteristic. Anyway, one day she told us that her mom had had a miscarriage before conceiving her (true) but that she was the fungus that grew off of the dead fetus, and that was why she was so small!

When I was small, around six or seven, we were talking about groundhog day in school. I drew pics of groundhogs and the like, and for some reason I was really into the whole 'holiday'. I came home from school and we had supper, where my father prepared a special treat: baked groundhog. My father said that that was the reason we had groundhog day-so we could eat it! It was so exciting to eat something new like that. Years later, my mother and I were talking and the truth came out. At the tender age of 18, I was told it was actually hamburger with a bit of rice in it. I was so devestated! LIES, all of it!
"I told your father you'd never forgive him for it," my mother said with a laugh.
To this day, I still have not. And I always bring it up to bug him.
In any case, I feel like a gullible little child...

One day when i was probably about 3...my mom found me in the bathroom upstairs with lip "smick" all over my face and hand soap in my hair...my mom tried to keep from laughing and asked me..."kelly, why did you put lip stick all over your face and soap in your hair?" I answered "Cause there was "spiders" in my hair!"
I'm kinda guessing that my dad called tangles "spiders"

I used to believe that when women grew up that they could no longer wear socks. When I was a child, my mom and Grandmother's all wore panty hose. It wasn't until I was a teenager did I ever see my mom wear a pair of socks.

When I was, before I startd school, I was very thin. People would say to me, you as skinny as a toothpick. You are so skinny you could go down the drain. Well I believed them and my sister would terorize me, threating to pull the plug in the tub and I would scream thinking I was going to go down the drain.

My birthday is on March 31st. When I told my best friend, she immediatly said, "There is no March 31st. March only goes up to 30." I spent a long time wondering if either my mother lied to me or if someone made me up.
