I used to believe that I was older than my brother and sister, because my b-day is in march and theirs are in september, and mine was first in the year, but they are really both five years older than me.

When I was in first grade, one of my classmates had a shirt that said "guess" on it. I tried to figure out what it said, but couldn't so I asked them. I got very frusterated because everytime I asked them they kept saying "guess!" I couldn't figure out why they wouldn't just tell me...

My mom & dad have their birthdays on the same day (Dec. 2) and coincidentally so does my mom's sister & her husband (Mar. 29). For years I believed that when you grew up & got married that you automatically had the same birthday as your mate. I think I was probably about 9 or 10 when they finally clued me in.

At the beginning of the year my Mom showed us kids when our birthdays were by marking them on the calender. My older brother's birthday was in January, my birthday was in February, and my younger sister's birthday was in March.
Based on this evidence I believed that everyone older than me, but younger than my brother, must have their birthday sometime between his January birthday and my February birthday. Similarly, someone younger than me, and older than my sister, had a birthday sometime between our birthdays. Those younger than my sister had birthdays later in the year.
I was so convinced this was true that I had even taken the effort to figure out how there could be so many people who were older than my brother, even though there were very few days in the year before his birthday. As I figured it, once all the possible birthdays had been used up, January birtdays started again (which would take a long time based on the time required for birthdays to advance one month). This conveniently explained how my parents could have birthdays in the summer- they were way older than me, so they were on a different birthday cycle. My siblings and I were just lucky to have birthdays so early in the cycle.
I found out this was not true after being invited to my neighbor friend's birthday party. I knew she was a year younger than me, but her party was in early February- before my Birthday!!! I tried to tell her she had her birthday wrong, but she wouldn't listen. Her mother had to break up the fight and explain how age and birthdays really worked.

I got mixed up on the whole "presents are supposed to be a surprise" thing cuz when my dad asked me what I wanted I said "I can't tell you,it's a surprise"
I guess i was about 9, my mom would was always trying to get me to eat. Constantly. Im not sure why. But after a while my cousin, who was in his teens, said that parents always tried to get kids to eat to fatten them up,because when they turned 11 years old they were sold to work in a cannery. he told me a cannery was where you gutted fish. When i asked why he hadn't been sent there,he only fueled it more,by saying only the oldest of multiple siblings got sent. He of coarse was an only child. I actually lost alot of sleep over that story..and beleived it for years, always dreading my 11th birthday, and counting my remaining days of freedom before being sold to the cannery.

My cousin is seven and KNOWS she's a secret agent. She leaps into the crowded dining room in her black ninja clothes, jogs in place, humming her theme song, then sneaks along the wall, thinking she's invisible.
I told her that sneaking around in black doesn't work well in a white room.

My brother actually believed this. One day, we watched Pinochio, and my mom told him that when he lied, his nose would grow, just like Pinochio's... well, whenever he would say something, like "I'm hungry", or, "Lisa called me a name and hit me", he would touch his nose to make sure it wasn't growning... and still to this day, every once in a while, he taps his nose when he is talking...haha. He is almost 13 now...
I was born on Halloween, but I didn't really know what Halloween was until I was about 4. I had no idea that people dressed up funny in costumes. Well on my first night of trick or treating, I saw everyone, (I did not even know why I was dressed up) and I looked up at my Mom with tears in my eyes and said, "Mommy, why does everyone dress funny on my birthday?"

Whe I was about 5 or 6 I was told that Real CowBoys didnt wear underwear. So when me and my friends were playing Cow boys and Indians I would go out with NO underwear on.. One day I fell over and hurt my knee. I rushed in doors crying and my mum said she would take a look and pulled my jeans down, to here surprise she found I wasnt wearing under wear.. She told me that it was wrong and I should wear some as it protected my jeans.. Not wishing to make my jeans dirty I thought id be doubly protected and wear 2 pairs of briefs.. This was fine untill I needed to pee . I wet my self one time as I was bursting to go and could get my dick out fast enough.

Back when I had a babysitter, when I around 4 there was only one other kid there, named Magoo. And I was conVINCED he was THE Mr.Magoo from the cartoon. So I always used to scold him for not wearing his glasses and would run ahead of him to open doors and guide him an stuff so he didn't get into trouble again. XD

when i was about 4 i was about to turn 5 (my birthday is dec. 23) my dad drove me around the neighborhood. and naturally i thought that all the decorations were for me. imagine my disapointment when i found out it was Jesus's birthday that they were celebrating. for a long time i wouldnt go to church because i thought he stole my birthday!
I used to believe that any word that sounded good could be a name. This had unfortunate side effects-my brother got ill and had to have medicine. I asked my mum what it was, and she said it was called Paracetamol.
Guess what happens next..
I loved the name Paracetamol. My grandma bought me a new toy horse. I named it Paracetamol.
(When she asked why, I said
"Because it's never been called anything else!", which I guess was true :)

When I was little, I didn't know that people could have the same names. I remember going to my friend's house, and she had a babysitter named Holly; well I also had a friend named Holly who was my age, and I thought she had suddenly grown up. So I said, "How did you grow up so fast?!"
Do I feel stupid now? Oh yes.

When my older sister was little, she cried one year becasue she didn't get an invitation to her own birthday party. My mother tried to explain to her that she didn't need one, but my sister wasn't satisfied until she got her own invitation
