When I was in third grade my best friend made me believe all muslims actually celebrated their birthdays on new year's eve. I thought that was true for years after that!

well actually this was my friends belief and i was the one who made her believe it. she had recently shifted with her parents next door (to me). i was quite older to her and me and my other friends decided to pull her leg a bit. we told her that i had a twin sister. if i happenend to meet her alone i.e. when my friends weren't along or anytime i felt a bit naughty i would tell her that i was siya, priya's sister and she would believe me. it was maybe more than a year later when even we had forgotten about this incident that my "dumb" friend asked me that she hadn't seen my sister for quite a long time. how we laughed!

When I was little, I found a jock strap lying around our family room. My two older brothers told me that it was a gas mask, so I put on my head to see if it worked. They told me that there was a part missing in the front - that's why it didn't work.

When my little sister Heather was 4 (she's now 22), she LOVED the name Ashley. She used to go around telling people "My name was really Ashley before it was Heather." I don't know how long she believed this.

After watching Stephen King's "It" when I was about 12, I used to cover up our air vents and plug the tub drain whenever I was in the bathroom. I was so afraid that the clown would come and get me.

My father used to tell me that I would stop growing and shrink if I lied. I was the smallest kid in school and it made me believe that I was a lier.

This is actaully a belief from a boy I used to babysit who spent a lot of time playing on computers. When asked how to spell his name (which was also the passcode for the computer),he would smile and proceed to spell it out...
"M-I-C-H-A-E-L-Enter".
He believed until he was 7 or 8 that his name ended with the letter "Enter".
I told my younger brother that when he lied his eyes changed colors. From that point on, every time he told a lie he'd either look away or close his eyes. That lasted until he was about six or seven, and then I had to figure it out on my own.

My best friend knew just how to get me. I was so gullable, I believed anything just because you told me so. We had a nice size piture of the Queen Elizabeth the 11 hanging up in our school hall. Trina said that she was able to find a soft spot in the piture which allowed her to visit the queen. I was a bit hesitant to believe her, but she was quite persistant. Anyway, I had this beautiful velvet piture of a castle hanging over my bed, so I got up and searched hight and low for that soft spot. Giving up for just a bit, to anaylize the piture, I got back up and searched all over the piture again to make sure I got every spot. I was quite dissappointed to discover that my friend did indeed get me again. (Chuckle)
I thought that clowns were born that way, with the funny hair and make-up. It was just like any other birth defect a child can imagine. I assumed that they worked in the circus because that was the only place they could get work. For a long time I didn't want children, just in case they were born clowns. To this day I find clowns kind of creepy.

From the time in toddlerhood that I started wearing underpants, I thought that other people could see my undies through my clothes, and spent lots of wasted time making sure that my undies matched my outfit. It wasn't until fifth grade that it occurred to me that I couldn't see anyone else's underpants.

My name is Pamela and one of the fondest childhood memories I had was of watching Sesame Street on my 6th birthday whilst my mother was preparing cakes and dinner. That day, Sesame Street had been sponsored by the number "6" and the letter "P". I was utterly convinced that my mother had conived the makers of the program into doing so to honnor my birthday. I was uncontrollable with glee and there was simply no dealing with me after that.
i used to live across the road from a girl who was 6 years older than me,
and who filled my world with lies. Apple trees grew in your tummy if you ate pips,
chewing gum would wrap round your heart if you swallowed it and bees
would come back to life if you wraped them in foil. Also if you died in your dream
you would die in real life. I have died in my dreams a couple of times now,
but who knows if i have really woken up.
