i used to believe that people were related by their first names...my grandp, ungle, and my cousin's names were Ernie, my dad and my brother's names were Todd, and my unlce and cousin's names were Sam. They were all on my mom's side of the family, thus they had different last names. Now you can see why I was so confused as a kid....

When I was a kid I believed that everyone was given a new first name when they became an adult. It just seemed to me that kids had different names than adults.

I used to believe I was named after a tree part. My middle name is Lynn, which, to a four-year-old, sounds a lot like tree limb. I was always upset at my parent for such a lame name even after I found out its proper pronounciation and that it had nothing to do with trees.

I used to believe that when you hit adulthood that you had to change your name to something like Betty or Anne, because little kids aren't called names like that.
