I once met a kid at the park named Wolfgang. Since I was very small(like 3 or 4), I could not pronounce his name right, so I called him "Loafgang" instead. I just thought that he liked bread

I was probably in second or third grade when my mother was reading the book Jane Eyre for a class, and I asked her what it was about. She gave me a brief outline of the story, and I was very interested, particularly in the part about the crazy lady up in the attic. I asked why she went crazy, and my mother told me it was because her name was Bertha. I completely believed this (wouldn't YOU go crazy, if your name was Bertha?), but my mother didn't realize I did until she heard me telling a friend, in all sincerity, the story EXACTLY as it was told to me. It just cracked her up.

when i was really little i thought that if you had twins, you had to give them the same name!

i also had two friends who shared the same birthday, so i was certain that that meant they were cousins!

I thought that when people got married, they just chose whatever surname in the world they wanted. I often wondered why they had chosen such a long and hard to spell one for our family!

I used to think everyone in the world knew my name. I was surprised when people asked me what my name was. I figured they should all know me.

I used to think that names with a hyphen in between, names with
The first and middle name put together were meant to be 'special' in some way, so if you wre called Anne-Marie, Mary-Anne,
Michael-John etc , then it made you the teachers pet at school, or everyone's family favourite at home.

When I was little, I used to believe that my name was "Mico," even though I knew it was spelled Michael. I got this idea from the Nickoloden game show, GUTs that was hosted by "Mico Malley" (Mike O'Malley) After that I thought that "micowaves" (microwaves) and "mico machines" (Micro Machines) were named after me.

Growing up as a twin can do funny things to your identity. In fact, I used to think my name was Tommyjason because my mom would always call my brother and I (for dinner, etc.), "Tommy! Jason!"

my dad told me that when he was really young, he thought all women were called 'mommies' and all men were called 'daddies'

One day when my father was a very young child, back in the early sixties when the civil rights movement was in full force, he was riding the bus with his mother. It was already crowded when the driver stopped and picked up a black man who proceeded to take a seat right next to them. My dad then leaned over, looked the man straight in the eye, and said "Hi daddy!"

I can't even imagine what grandma's reaction was.

I had a best friend named Jessica when I was little, and I swore she was really Jessie from Pokemon in disguise. She thought I was crazy, and so did my teachers as I had assured them that she really wanted to kidnap their Pokemon!

I was named Caillou after the cartoon character of the same name. I was very upset when I overheard someone say Caillou was bad, because I thought they didn't like me for some reason!

I used to think that when parents were discussing what to name their child, they had to do over the table at mealtimes, so the first, middle and surnane would be like breakfast, lunch and dinner, or starter, main course and dessert, with the baby name book as an imaginary menu to choose from (you get the idea, when certain subjects make you hingry for no actual reason).

My mom made a song when I was little called Chrissy "Bear". I got very confused and used to think and tell people that my last name was Bear. I insisted that it was and my pre school teacher had to call my mom to ask if my last name was really different then hers.
