I used to belive that God was the sun. And mum always told me that God was among us people, so therefore I was always drawing feets on the sun. hi hi....

I always thought the line of "In Exelsis Deo" from the carol "Angels We Have Heard On High" was actually "Angels eat eggshells daily", and informed my very confused mother that I didn't want to go to heaven, because I didn't want to eat eggshells.

At the end of the mass, the priest says something along the lines of "The Mass is ended...let us go in peace" and everyone says "Thanks be to God".When I was a kid,I didn't realise this was actually part of the mass:I thought it was a spontaneous thing that once the priest said the mass was finished and everyone could go home, they were so happy that they said "Thanks be to God".

Actually my brother's,but here goes-in the Catholic Church we have a prayer containing the words "and may the souls of the faithful departed to the mercy of God rest in peace,Amen".

My mum told me that my older brother always thought these were the "playful departed".I thought that was cute.

When I was about 5, I would go to Sunday school to learn about God. After one class, my Mom told me to go say thank you to the teachers (a man and a woman). So I walked up to the man and said "Thank you Jesus." It got a big laugh from everyone and still does today.

Joyful and Triangle

I've just turned 35, and was raised as a Catholic, doing everything that came with it - First Communion, Confirmation, and a whole lot of lessons both at school and church. And yet - until fairly recently, I NEVER realized that they REALLY meant that the host becomes the body of Christ. I thought it was all symbolic. My boyfriend, who is Church of England, had a very hard time convincing me of it. Well, although I had't really believed in any god for a long time, that certainly did it for me.

I used to believe that everything big was something God owned. So if I saw a huge pair of sunglasses (those ridiculous plastic neon ones) or an enormous footprint-shaped stain on my mattress base, I would say "Look mummy! That's God's footprint" It's still a bit of an amusing game to play I guess.

I used to believe that heaven was in the moon.

I was also taught about the end of the world and how the "good christians" would have to hide from the "beast" which supposedly was some government who wanted all religious people dead. I would cry because I thought that meant I would die or have to go into hiding before I was a teen, which meant I'd have no kids or be able to go places like Disneyland and basically not have a life of my own. That's pretty harsh for a kid.
