I used to believe that the songs on the radio that you heard playing in the stores were God's CD-player.
I used to think that Jesus only lived four months, and had magically gone from a baby to an adult between Christmas and Easter.
I didn't study religion that much...

When I was little, I thought God lived on my nightstand. He was like 3 inches tall, had a long green robe, and had the face identical to my Uncle Harvey - white scruffy beard, round glasses. When people mention God now, that's all I can picture.

When I was maybe 7 or 8, I used to try and imagine how big God actually was. I would try and "logically" figure out his size based on the size of cities and states. Like his hand had to be as big as California.

My mother told us we came from heaven. At about 5 or so, I said, "Jesus must've looked all over heaven to find me a brother that matches me."

My parents never taught us to be very religious, once when visiting my grandmother, she put us to Sunday school.
After the lesson grandmother asked us what we had learned, and I pointed at my little brother announcing the only thing the lesson had left in my mind: "you are Jesus Christ, God's son!"
Obviously, my brother was the only person I had heard to be referred as "son", so of course he was Jesus.
I used to believe that when you closed your eyes to pray, your guardian angel appeared, and when you opened your eyes, they disappeared. It explained why our church needed such a high ceiling- how else could all the guardian angels fit?

When I was really young. Before I understood what religions were about. I thought it'd be very frustrating that after you die again. You actually become reborn. But I didn't like that concept because. you'd have to relearn everything that you'd learn from your previous life.
Like refining your motor skills, walking, and I still used to trip when I walked. Writing, learning, it just seemed so boring. Why go back through all of that again when you learned it the first time.
I still don't know what to think.

When I was younger, my mother told me that church was "the house of god." For the longest time, whenever I went to church I would wonder where god was and why his house was so weird - it didnt have any bedrooms or anything.

in my childhood,i believed that when people fasted,it was forbidden for them to swallow their own saliva.

When I was little I heard one of my teachers explaining that prayers will be answered if you have faith in God. I took what she said literally, and expected to one night hear God's voice speaking to me beside my bed returning my prayers. Eventually I figured out what she really meant when we talked about it in class.

When I was young, my Sunday School teachers asked my class if Jesus had ever spoken to us. When we said no, they told us that he would someday. For a while, I believed that one day, Jesus would show up at my bedroom door to have a conversation with me!

When I was young, I used to think that Presbyterians and Pedestrians were the same thing. When my mom would drive by the hospital in our town, there was a sign that said "Pedestrian crossing" and I always wondered why they got a special crossing.
I used to believe that when you prayed and your hands where folded together or touching, that was the only way God would hear you, even if you were just thinking. Still to this day if my hands touching and Im thinking bad or naughty things I have to unfold them because I feel like God can hear me.
I used to think that Muslims didn't eat ANYTHING during Ramadan, instead of fasting during the day and eating at night. So when I started hearing that people die if they go, say, a week without eating, I thought, "That's not true, some people do it for a whole month for their religion!"

I used to believe that Bible stories were not only fairy tales, but that they were written by Disney.

When I was in pre-school, we were taught to sing "God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our food" before meals. I always misheard it as saying "God is gray," so I would be vaguely picturing some gray blob and wondering why it mattered what color God was.

We had 8 kids in our Catholic family, so sometimes I guess my mother got a little tired and lax about Lent rules. Anyhow, we ate pizza on many Fridays, the day of fasting during Lent. So my mother told us, and I grew up believing, that pepperonis were not meat, and thus they were okay to eat, even during Lenten fasting.
