I used to believe…

Growing up in a Catholic home, I was a tad confused on a few things. I thought to have a baby you had to have a wedding in the church (even if you'd already been married there) and the preist prayed over the couple and if you prayed hard enough a baby would be sent down on a bolt of lightening.

I also thought Satan lived in our basement.....ah precious memories!

I believed that heaven was pretty straight-forward: Everyone got wings and everyone could do and have everything they wanted.

Naturally, I hoped to die young because I'd be able to really enjoy my wings and free stuff. I figured if I didn't die until I was old, I'd be too slow and tired to do a lot of flying, and I'd end up with boring adult stuff rather than mountins of toys.

I used to believe that there was an omniscient, invisible man in the sky who would answer my prayers. I used to believe that a man died for my sins and rose from the dead.

I thought that Jesus and the bible were real, but they are really just silly bronze ages myths.

I used to believe there is God that watches over all of us and I also believed the stories in Bible were true.

I kept hearing the scripture where Jesus said, "Even as you have done it unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me." I thought it was literal, so that every person I met, like poor people asking for money or even mean people provoking me, were really just Jesus in disguise, testing me to see if I would treat him like I was supposed to.

my mom always said we should care about and pray for all creatures...when we would drive to visit my grandma we would pass a lot of different towers for electricity. for some reason i thought that a couple of them looked like two large girraffes,standing back to back.my mom also said to not brag so i never told her that i prayed for the stuck,frozen girraffes every time we passed them.poor things!

My parents are Atheists, but my grandparents are Catholic. One day when I was little my grandma said something about heaven so I asked my dad what it was. He told me that heaven was a big bar in the sky. I believed for several years that I could visit that bar when I grew up.

Due to a misunderstanding about death and resurrection at Sunday school, I thought that you had to die twice for it to be 'final'. I remember watching Winston Churchill's funeral on TV and everyone being rather surprised when I asked why everyone was upset because he was coming back again afterwards.

I believe in God becouse I think that God made human being, and God is who substent us.
God is who give my life, God make life and God made me.

I remember as a child that "heaven" was in the sky . I swear I saw Jesus in the clouds. I ran to my parents shouting "I saw Jesus, I saw Jesus he's there in the clouds." Then I was told thats only how the clouds look that it was't really Jesus. For some reason it really hurt at the time. Oh well.

I thought when my pastor said the tithes and offerings were 'given for God's use', he actually took it to the church parking lot, threw up the money, and God would take as much as he could from the tossed cash. The rest that fell to the ground belonged to the humans. Safe to say, it's no wonder we moved to a bigger building in record time.

I used to believe that God ran the world by computers. He would sit in a room full of computers around him, kind of like a space center, and each human being had it's own computer through which he could control our actions, thoughts, etc...

When i was small my mom told me that God is watching everything we did, so i used to believe that He has a really huge screen with hundreds of camera watching everything everybody in the world is doing. ( I even wonder how He is able to watch so many cameras at once) I didnt know that time the world is a huge place. As far as I know that time the world is the few hundreds of peopple staying in my neighbourhood.
