The biggest Greed is wanting an afterlife. If we lived forever on earth with no death. There would be less people who believed in god and more people who believed in ourselfs and the universe.Instead of this "Ultimate Reality" - Anyway humans have a good go at makin' that in the Future.
I used to believe that gods exist!

There's a line in the lord's prayer about Jesus being "crucified under Pontius Pliate". In my 3-year-old mind, "Pilate" became "Pilot", so I always had this image of the Red Baron circling in his bi-plane over the site of the Passion.
It was not until 6th grade social studies that I learned the true spelling of "Pilate", and that "Pontious" is not an adjective.
I used to believe when I was little that we weren't responsible for our actions, because God created us and so essentially set us up into certain scenarios etc. etc. I did whatever the ffffff I wanted for a while and then realized that I couldn't :(

Im 13, and up until I was about 9, I thought that when you died, you could sit on a big cloud and spy on people that you know. I also thought that you eat anything and stay slim..
I thought Mary's real name was Virgin Mary, so I would always correct people if they just called her Mary. I never understood the Virgin partuntil later; nobody would explain it to me.

My last name is Carpenter. I used to really believe I was related to Jesus. I even quoted verses in the bible where it said that Jesus was a "carpenter".

When I was a child I thought your "soul" was your buttocks; because nobody could quite explain to me what a soul was. So when my mom told me when someone dies their soul goes to heaven; I was always picturing all these buttocks soaring up into the sky.
I remember asking for more "wafers" when i was in communion because i loved them. Then i found out that they were Gods "body". I was grossed out and wouldnt take them. My parents had to tell me it wasnt really gods body for me to eat it again
I knew about death alright. from since iw as 3 and frank died. :'( well, anyways, i thought taht instead of just one heaven, it was how you wanted it to be. Like, if you loved wild animals, heaven would be a zoo. i was so sad when i found out i might be wrong.

There's a line in a school hymn that goes 'I wait with baited breath' - I thought that meant the hymn writer's breath smelled of maggots.

When I was a kid parents convienced that there is a magical old guy that controls the world from the clouds. They called him God, I think. Now that I am older and don't believe in fairy tales, I know better
I used to believe that the damned had one las chance to save their souls before entering Hell, which wasn't a test of piety or charity, but instead a physical challenge. You could get into Heaven if only you could walk a tightrope a mile long or hold your breath for three minutes.

As a kid, I used to believe that nothing was wasted if you made it a sacrifice to God. So when my parents would pack me a nasty sandwich that I didn't feel like eating, I would silently say "Dear God, please accept my humble sacrifice" and throw the sandwich away. That way I didn't feel bad about wasting food.

When I was little, I belived that little siblings were evil spirits coming to haunt older children. I was absouelutly horrid to my little brother, until my mom told me that if I hurt my brother again, even if he was a spirit, I would be grounded forever.

my youngest brother used to believe
that the reason we said grace
before meals was to
cool the food down.
our food was rarely
piping hot, but if it was
you'd catch him doing the sign of the cross
and saying grace several times in
a row so to make the temperature drop.
of course, in the time it took him to recite
the prayer a few times over, the food
was generally cooler anyway.
I used to beleive that if I went to sleep someone in my family would die, so I wouldn't sleep. I would pray for everyone's soul I knew, and then just to be on the safe side, I would pray again. Then I was scared if you prayed twice for the same soul it would cancel out the prayers and that person would die and go to hell. I spent many nights finding the right balance of salvation.
