I used to think that 1000 (or so) years into the future, people would be studying about the kids in my bible class in their bible classes.

When I was in first grade in a Catholic school there was Religion class. In the textbook there was a map of Palestine. It was a revelation to me that the places in the Gospel stories were real places and that the events in the Gospel were believed to be historical events. At the age of six I apparently had formed the belief that all religious scriptures were myths.
I think I was about eight when I was first introduced to the creation/evolution debate, and I remember thinking it was -obvious- that the right answer was a cross between the two: that God set off the big bang and oversaw the process of evolution like a quality-assurance person in a factory that made planets. Sort of a biblical Slarty Bartfast ("Hitchiker's Guide To the Galaxy").

When I was about five I went to my first sleepover at my best friend's house. While we were playing in the yard we found a feather. My friend looked worried and told me that Jesus lost one of his feathere and he had probably crashed somewhere. I was so upset and told my mother as soon as she came to pick me up.

I used to think if you went to hell you would become a "bad angel" and could walk through fire and not get hurt.

As a kid, I had a Christmas song book, from which I learned the song "Rise Up Shepherd And Foller". At the time, I didn't recognize "foller" as a dialectical form of "follow". So I thought a "foller" was somebody who, like the shepherds, went to the manger to adore the Christ child. For years, I puzzled over who a "foller" was, and just how follers fit into the Christmas story.

When I was a ittle kid I asked my dad about God and what he was meant to be, where was he ect. His answer was that god was everywhere... therefore with child logic I assumed this to mean that wherever I looked I would see him, and I ended up spending a lot of time searching behind the couch and in cupboards in order to find god... I never suceeded (I guess I kind of lost my faith after that)

When I was a little kid ithought that when you prayed you prayers went into a bubble and floated into heaven then when god wanted to hear them he would pop them. I was so afraid of sendim=ng him to many that he would be mad! So i only prayed a couple times a day until i was like 9!

My mom told me that everytime you sinned you got a little piece of your circle taken away. The circle is like your soul or like if the whole circle is gone you don't go to heaven.

I thought that if you go to Antartica that you would fall and go to hell.
I used to think that the three wise men from the song " We three Kings" were from space. In the song the real lyrics go
We three kings of Orient Are
Bearing Gifts, We traveled Afar
But i heard..
We three Kings of Orientar
Bearing Gifts We traveled Afar
i thought that they were the kings of some strange planet call orientar, after all if they came from a different planet they would have traveled afar...

My friend's little sister put her own surrealist spin on the carol "Ding Dong Merrily On High".
Last year she came out with the line "Gloria - Susanna is an extension" ...

Being a non-Catholic, I used to believe that the word virgin was another word for Catholic: My third grade friends, however, had recently learned what virgin really meant and were afirming that they were indeed still virgins. I'll never forget their faces when I declared, "I'm not a virgin."

My mom always told me that everyone was Catholic; the big Protestant church next to ours was where the wealthy Catholics worshipped, etc. I overheard her tell my dad one day that a neighbor was dating a Jew. I was estatic! I thought this girl had discovered this lone iconoclast in some foreign land (most likely a shephard) who was the Bartleby of organized religion. I lingered around the girl's house for weeks, waiting for the guy in a robe and sandals to show up, but the only boy that came to see her was this regular hippy kid. I resented him, because I thought he was trying to get between her and the Jewish guy I longed to meet.

There were several small holes in the dirt around my house. When I was about 6, I used to brush loose dirt and small rocks into them. When people asked what I was doing, I'd tell them, "I'm throwing stuff down to Hell so it'll hit Satan on the head!"

When I was younger I belived that the man who lived across the street from me was Jesus. He had a beard and a mustash and long brown hair and he looked like Jesus. He also drove the garbage truck around town.. So aparently Jesus has came back, and instead of starting the apacolipse he decided to screw it and become a garbage man in Jersey
I was in 6th grade we were discussing religions and my friend was talking about how her mom was wiccan. I didn't understan that she was a witch, I thougt that meant that she worshipped candle wics.
I used to believe that if I could find a ladder long enough, I could climb up to the sky, look through the holes there (the stars) and see heaven on the other side.
