When we were in church, about to have offering, the preacher said "Let us give unto God." I thought the ushers sat the plates there after and God beamed up the money into heaven.

I used to believe that God and Santa were the same thing. They both see you when you're sleeping and know when you're awake, they know if you've been bad or good, you ask them for things and sometimes you get them, and they both live somewhere up high but nobody ever sees them. So when I was first introduced to the concept of God in Kindergarten, I thought I had to structure my prayers like a letter including my name, address, and telephone number at the end of each prayer.

My knowledge of other religions was very limited as a child. :) While attending the early years of Catholic Grade School I always assumed that public school children were "Publics"....

Remember the line in "Jesus Loves Me" that goes "little ones to him belong"? I still remember singing (at the top of my lungs) "little monsters him be long" and envisioning the Sesame Street muppets.

When I was little, I always used to picture God like Mr. Clean. Not exactly, but very similar. I remember when I asked my father how God looked, he told me he imagined God to have a long white beard and a few wrinkles, as he would be old wise, and whatnot, and I was shocked, because I always imagined him young, and bald... but like a clean bald, not like a man who lost all his hair already... and I imagines him blue, I guess cuz of the sky... heh, I dunno, I guess Mr. Clean was the closest example I can think of

I used to believe that there was this place called StrawberryLand. It was like a Heaven Me and my imaginary friend Maple Syrup thought we'd go there after we'd die. We could ride roller coasters and eat nothing but strawberries once we arrived.
