When I was in grade two my friend and I thought that our librarian was an alien because she gave us a black marker that didn't work. We spent a week trying to get rid of her. I also believed I could get rid of her my giving her an apple. That's because I saw on a show called "Incredible Story Studio" a story a kid submitted about an alien who got purple holes in his chest because he drank Sunny D, and that it turned out aliens can't eat fruit. I believed that was true.

When my sister was in kindergarten she thought the dress code was some kind of code that the teachers wrote in by drawing dresses and different dresses meant different words.
I used 2 think that teachers lived at school!
After all, they were always there when we arrived at school, and were there when we left to go home!

When i was six my school was teaching us about different religions. Because virtually everyone in my class was Christian, my teacher opened her talk about Hinduism by saying 'Hindus are people who are not Christians....'. Because I knew my mum was an athiest, i loudly announced 'my mum is a Hindu'. My teacher looked a bit suprised and said 'really? How interesting!' Does she celebrate Diwali?' i didnt know what she was talking about but i said yes as not to appear stupid. Later, at a parents evening, my teacher asked my mum if she had had a pleasant Diwali. When my mum found out she teased me for ages, and told most of my family. She tells people about it to this day........i was only 6!
I believed that the Pledge of Allegiance went: "...and to the Republic, for Richard Stans,..." I always wondered who Richard Stans was, and why he was so important that he made it into the Pledge. I asked my mom one day who he was and why I wanted to know. She just kind of smiled and explained the problem to me lol.

I thought the word to The Pledge of Allegiance were, "and to the Republic for witch's stands".
I would envision witchs sitting in life guard towers.

in my Primary (elementry) school, there was an after school care. I went there every day till my mum came home from work and pickeed me up. My friend Susan, didnt realise till she was in p4 that we went home at the end of the day because she didnt go there, she thought all the kids who went to after school care slept in the scholl attic every night. Im going in to my first year at secondary now and i still cant tell if the penny has dropped.

The neighborhood where I grew up was entirely Catholic, and I went to the Catholic grade school down the street. I used to think that the kids who attended the public school at the opposite end of the block were just Catholics who couldn't afford the tuition.
I used to think that at preschool our restroom was for resting and thought that our class must just not use the restroom for nap time because some other class probably was.

After saying the pledge, we'd sing "My Country Tis Of Thee."
my slightly altered version was: My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty, of the ICING. Land where our fathers died, land of the pilgrim's pride, from every mountain side, let freedom ring...
So, basically, i pictured a sweet land frosted with icing but then became sad to think of my father dying and then i'd picture people eating turkey because the strongest word to associate with pilgrim in my mind was turkey. This happened to me almost every day, and created within me a wide variety of emotions from munchies for the icing to deep sadness at the thought of my dad dying and us eating turkey afterwards.

When I was in like 3rd grade the teacher had to step out of the room. we were all shocked when we heard her voice coming over the intercom telling us to sit back down and get to work. For years I thought there were hidden cameras in the intercom boxes and that the secertary and principal just sat and watched us all day.

When I was 5 my class was cutting out pictures from magazines to make greeting cards. One girl told me that when you cut someone's picture up, the person gets cut up in real life too. So I started cutting all the pictures of people I saw up, because I wanted to show she was lying & that I didn't believe her. But deep-down I felt guilty & sad for the peoples families.
On a side note, another classmate started crying when I cut up Father Christmas 'cos they thought they wouldn't get presents anymore.
I thot it went:
"I pledge a weej ants to the fags of the nine states of balaria and to Publix and witches hands, one nation under dogs invinsible with liberty and sha sha for all."
I don't know why...Wen i found out what it really said i was like "screw it" and i kept saying it the way i did then and i still do lmfao

When I was four years old and in kindergarten, I said the Pledge of Allegiance for the first time. That day after I got home, I asked my mother, "Why do we all talk to a flag? It's not alive." I believed that adults had been mistaken in thinking that a flag could hear us all talk to it.
