When my class said the pledge, there is a line "for which it stands" and a young man came up to me and asked when we would learn the "witch's dance"
I don't know where this came from, but when I was in second grade I started getting horrible panic attacks and developed a serious separation anxiety with my mom and had problems at school. (we still don't know why) But I thought that if I went into the middle stall in the bathroom at the school and started talking my mom could hear me. Bizzare, but it always made me feel better!

On my first day of school, I wanted to hurry in and find a seat in the first row - I thought the 1st row was for grade 1, the second row for 2nd grade and so on... Because I was tall, the teacher had me sit in the back... I was to shy to say anything, but I was very worried!
I was told that children of different ages were in different "grades" in school -- first grade was when you were six, fifth grade was when you were ten, etc.
However, my birthday is in February, which is in the middle of the school year. When I was in Kindergarten, I started getting increasingly worried right before my sixth birthday because I thought that after my kindergarten class held the usual in-class party for me, my teacher would pick me up, physically drop-kick me out the door to the classroom, and leave me to find my way to the first grade classroom by myself.

When I was going into kindergarten, I was afraid because I knew you had to memorize the pledge. I thought it was "I pledge a sneeze since to the bag of the United Snakes of America, and to the public for where they stand, one station under God in lizardy and justice for all."
Imagine my teacher's surprise when that ws what I recited.

in the first grades I used to believe that my teacher didn't sleep, go to the bathroom, eat, have family or kids, have home. It was a sensation when I discovered that she was a human being like me. I couldn't come out of the shock for several weeks.

In the first grade, I heard one Mom talking to another Mom, bragging about how her child had gotten "straight A's"
I examined my own perfect report card very carefully, quite upset that my A's might not be straight.

When I was in elementary school in kindergarten till first, the vice principal was named Mr. Ebneth. I couldn't pronounce it right, so I called him Mr.EggBreath! Since I was just 5, I didn't get in trouble, he just laughed. ^-^

When I was in playschool, I told my older sister, who must have been about 5 years old, and had never attended the playschool but had only ever seen it when she came with my mother to come pick me and my borther up, that the big beanbag seats were filled actually with the bodies of dead children, who the workers had killed, and the toilets were covered in blood and sick and that the workers lured kids into them and tortured and killed them, and that kdis were constantly disappearing. Also I told her that when playing in the sandbox me and my brother had discovered the bodies of children from the playschool buried under the sand, and she believed it ALL.
I used to believe that one of my schools supply teachers was actually a dog-person, because of her jowls. I used to think she would go into the supply closets and morph into a dog once everyone had left school.
I was convinced that there were only 11 grades of school, and grade 12 was college. My mother didn't correct me until I was in the 6th grade, LOL!

When I was finished nursery school, we had a graduation ceremony with caps and gowns, and certificates, the whole works. My brother graduated high-school the same day. I overheard him telling my mam that since he graduated he would never go to school again, not even collage. I assumed I wouldn't have to either, so the next year I told my new teacher I was not coming to learn 'cos I graduated, but I'd be glad to help teach.
