I used to believe…
When I was in second grade, I thought that a third grade teacher, Mr. Thomas, was actually another third grade teacher called Mr. Brock. I thought this because every time I passed Mr. Brock's class, I saw Mr. Thomas walking out of it. When Mr. Thomas turned out to be my teacher next year, I must've sounded pretty dumb saying that he looks like Mr. Brock. By the way, Mr. Brock is black and Mr. Thomas is white.
I used to believe that there was only one janitor who traveled around from school to school cleaning up.
I used to believe that the teachers lived at the school and their beds folded out of the closet...but thats just me.

Before I was 4 years old, I was a very spoiled child. So when it came time to go to pre-kindergarten and we had to clean up our toys I was shocked, but to make it fun we sang this song. I used to believe that everytimg you had to clean up something, you had to sing the song. So when I entered kindergarten and the teacher said it is time to clean up, I started to sing to song, I got some dirty looks from the other children.

When I was in preschool, there was a pretend clock in the room. The hands never moved. Our teacher said if we didn't look at it, it would move. I believed her and I used to always peek at it out of the corner of my eye, thinking it wouldn't know I was looking and the hands would move.

When we explained to our son that he would be starting school soon, he asked how long he had to stay there. We explained he would go to school until he was about 16. He started to cry - he didn't realise he would come home every afternoon- he thought he had to stay at the school until he was 16

The lady who babysat me as a kid had three older kids of her own. I remember her once asking her daughter what she had learned in school that day. The daughter replied, "I learned that X equals 7!" I became convinced then, that all letters corresponded with numbers and this was something you had to memorize when you were in the higher grades. I spent the rest of the day wondering what number "A" was.
Funny thing is, I told my husband about this and he had a very similar experience after asking someone what "Algebra" was!

When I was in kindergarten to 2nd grade, I used to think that pledge was "And to the republic, where witches stand". Then, finally in 3rd grade, I realized that is was "And to the republic, for which it stands"

me & my mate were about 14 or 15 and had to take the class register back to the staffroom. as we were sauntering along the corridoor my mate turned to me and said imagine if the register was blue instead of red, everyone would call it a blue chester. yes it took some time to explain is was a reg ister and not a redchester

When I was younger, I thought the words "Under God" were "Underdog" I always thought that meant something about the U.S. being younge.r then other countries. What's even worse is, when I went to visit my cousins, who don't live in the U.S., I took my flag and said the pledge, very wrong, every day!
