When I was a child, I used to believe that teachers slept at school to study and prepare the subjects we would do the next day. When my English teacher told me that it wasn’t true, I walked out of the school and I did not speak to her for days.”

I used to think English teachers could sue their students for plagiarism if they caught you copying story or poem ideas off someone else, sort of like cheating on a test!

I used to believe that all teachers lived at the teacher's lounge. I thought it was illegal for them to live outside of school

In our school nativity play, the teacher shouted out 'choir!' when we had to sing Silent Night, but I thought she said 'quiet!', so everyone looked at me when they were singing, and I didn't join in! Talk about heavenly peace!

I used to think the writer's workshop lessons we had in primary school would be like some of carpentry or DIY workshop, and pictured a man from somewhere like Homebase or IKEA coming into the classroom, and saying 'who are these people in my workshop?!'

In primary school, I thought the nursery teacher wasn't allowed to come into the main school and got supposedly 'upset' when seeing her in assembly with the 4-year-olds, because I hadn't expected to see her again after 2 years like that!
