My sister thought that she could video me by simply inserting the VHS tape into the VCR sideways.

I thought if you point the video camera at the TV then both the video camera and the TV will explode.

I use to think gravity only existed because we thought it does, so I tried to hold something in the air and not drop it, I thought I dropped it because of what I was doing with my hands.

A friend of my brother (alas, younger than myself) had us believe that his cool steel marbles had been produced in the most bizarre way: supposedly, the maid working at his home created them by ironing once and again over a special piece of cloth, which produced tiny marbles that grew in size as she kept ironing.

I thought that if you wanted to print something out in landscape, you had to buy a special sideways-printing printer.

I used to believe that if someone took a picture of another person, the person in the picture would stay in that position/place forever.

When I was little, I used to believe that when u talked on the phone, the other person's head would shrink and be inside your phone... I know... I had a really wild imagination when I was young. lol

I thought horsepower meant how fast horses can run. But 200 horses can't run any faster than 2, so why was 200 horsepower better than 2?.....

After they thaught me which was the righthand side and which was the left, I was convinced that I could also always tell were the North is. I thought everyone had some sort of a mental GPS that kept track of every turn you made. Compasses were only usefull to point it out more exactly. I admit still thinking naïvely that I’m good at gessing where the North lays.

This one is about my sister. She is 22 and I am 20. Last year I started working at an office so I had access to all the cool office things like copiers and fax machines. My sister had never used a fax machine before since we never had access to one. One day she needed to fill out paper work for her job and send it to them. My mom suggested she fax it instead of sending it so she came to my work so I could fax it for her. Before I faxed it I mentioned that since it was an important document they might need the real copy. My sister looked at me blankly and said,

"Why won't they get the real copy."

That's when I realised that my sister was under the impression that a fax machine was like a transporter. I couldn't stop laughing as I explained to her how they really worked. I think she was dissapointed.

When I was younger, I thought I was the only person in the world who knew that pressing record while the radio was on actually taped the songs.

After I found out that sugar was made of carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, I thought that I could make sugar by blowing into water. Why? Because the carbon from the CO2 you exhale would combine with the H and O in H2O and result in sugar. Not just any carbohydrate- but sucrose table sugar, the brown one.

When I was young I used to think the screens at movie theaters were just like giant TVs. There was a VRC built into the wall below the screen and they just put a tape in and it played on the screen like a giant TV...

I used to think that a CD burner would literally burn the CD and when my dad bought one I asked "why don't you just use the fireplace?"

i was convinced that if i could spin fast enough i could fly like a helicopter. I got my limited knowledge of science involved, I figured since helicopters had tilted wing things, so if i held books tilted in my hands i would have better lift. I gave up after I realized that even if I did spin fast enough when I would float I wold lose spinning action and come back down anyway

When I was little, I used to think that there used to be little people inside things to keep them going, and that when things used to break down, the people had gone to sleep and needed to be woken up again. When something broke down and couldn't be repaired, I used to think that they had died and I used to get really sad.
