I used to believe that when walking on the beach I wouldn't leave any foot prints if I concentrate all my weight in the top half of my body - I tried and tried but always left foot prints in the sand.

The first time I heard one of my classmates ask another student if she would burn a CD for her, I pictured someone throwing a CD into a fireplace or stove and setting in on "fire". I wondered why anyone would want to waste their time doing such a thing...lol....=)

my brother once told me that if you spun yourself around and got dizzy, you would get un-dizzy by going the other way.

In computer technology, it's often the adults who have the wrong ideas rather than the kids.

Once my brother went to my parents to tell them that our computer had crashed. They came rushing into the room, expecting to see it fallen off the table onto the floor. But when it was still on the table they couldn't see the problem.

I once told my sister, when she was about 6, that she was being too noisy and I couldn't concentrate on my work. She, really believing she was being helpful, advised me to play a blank tape to myself on a Walkman so that I wouldn't hear her!

When I was a wee tyke I actually believed that there were real tiny people in the radio making all that music and talking....now I just believe that they are living in my head, and telling me what to do....:-)

When I was 6, I would often wonder what would happen if you called your own phone number from another phone in the house. When I asked my mom, she told me that a group of telephone workers watched what numbers you dialed, and if you dialed your own they would come and investigate. Somehow my young brain interpreted this as "A hundred tall, scary men in black trenchcoats will come, stick you in the back of their van, and kidnap you". It's no wonder I left phones alone.

I used to believe that if someone offerered to give you their phone number, you would have to actually permanantly swap your home phone numbers. I liked my phone number, so I would always turn people down when they offered me theirs.

I used to think that if you got two buckets and put a foot in each one you could lift yourself up by the handles.

when I was little, I thought that the phone was a gigantic series of tuubes that went everywhere to each house, like really long straws. So then, I believed that you could send stuff through the tubes. I remember telling my best friend over the phone, that I was going to send spagghetti through the phone to my brother in college:P

I believed that telephone operators were in the telephone poles, and I thought that you had to be really skinny to be a telephone operator.

As a kid I believed that the dial tone on your phone was the operator going *oooooooo* all day long. I used to pick up the phone to see if I could catch her not doing it, like on a break or lunch.

When I was younger, I used to think that when you faxed a paper, the paper went through the wire to someone's fax maching. I couldn't understand how this happened so quickly because the wires could be far apart.

I saw a commercial for AOL when I was young, and I didn't understand what computers or Internet or anything like that were, right?

So I figured that you get a computer, and set it all up, and when the mailman outside puts your fliers and bills and letters in the mailbox, your computer would tell you that 'You've Got Mail!'.

Why didn't they make the phrase 'You Got E-Mail!'? At least then I wouldn't have been so confused ... ^_^;

I used to think that if I were to stretch a rubber band too far, it would destroy the earth. And to this day I hate flinging rubber bands.

I used to believe that local anesthetics were just some homemade brew that the particular dentist/surgeon used rather than an anesthetic restricted to a specific region. I just figured it out during my first year of medical school.

When we were studying chemistry and the teacher talked about selenium, I thought that selenium was named after a Mexican pop star Selena who died during my childhood.
