I used to think that bartenders were scientists and when they were mixing drinks, they were really mixing chemicals and trying to poison people.
When I was little, I had went to call my grandma on the phone in my mom's bedroom, but had forgot the number. I left the phone off the hook to go ask my mom for the number. When I came back, the recording was on the phone that says "If you would like to make a call, please hang up and dial again". I picked up the phone, hearing the voice, and thought someone was actually on the other end of the phone talking to me. I sat there for hours talking to the recording, finally my mom came into the room and asked if I was talking to grandma. Excitedly I looked at my mom and said "Nope! I've been talking to the dial lady, she's been saying the same thing for a long time... I think her memory isn't very good, but she is a good listener! She even plays music that sounds like beeping noises when she doesn't talk!"
When I was a kid, I thought my mother and a neighbor frequently gave each other rings (rings like one wears on one's finger). I watched to see them wearing all those new rings, but I never did. I didn't realize yet that when they said, "I'll give you a ring", they were talking about making phone calls to each other.

When my mother used to try to make phone calls and 'it was busy.' I always wondered how the phone knew the people were busy.
my mom always told me that if i kept watching the microwave oven while it was going that i would mutate from the energy waves or something. only later did i not only realize that this probably could never happen but she had no clue what she was talking about.
im still afraid of the microwave though
When I was little, my mom called my grandmother on the phone. She let me listen for her to pick up and answer. I heard the busy signal and handed the phone back to my mom rather confused. She listened and then told me that "the lion was busy." In shock and horror I imagined that this was the sound you heard when someone (like my grandmother)was being killed and eaten by a lion.

When I was little, (around three or four); I used to believe that anytime someone used the phone, the person on the other line was inside of it. I nearly gave my mother a nervous breakdown when I exclaimed "AHH!!! DADDY'S IN THE PHONE!!! GET HIM OUT!!!!"
Ibelieved only computers could think.((i started at a too early age my mom says))
When I was like 4 or 5 (don't remember exactly), I asked my dad why we had to turn off the computer after that "It is now safe to turn off your computer." thing appeared. He said it would blow up if we didn't do that. I was always careful to shut down the computer at the right time until I saw my dad just push the off button on the computer and nothing happened.
When I was 11 I went to the doctors for my headaches, and he gave me some little balls to put in my ears. When i asked how they would get out, he started explaining that very small objects could be transported into space, by a mini black hole. I was amazed and told everyone that if they lost something, don't worry, because its near Jupiter.
I still believed that at 13....
I used to believe that your computer mouse was really a mouse, in camouflage. I would pet them everyday...but I was puzzled why they wouldn't accept the food from me.
When I was a kid I was scared of installing things because I thought you had to do it fast because it always shows like a wire with flamey sparks going around the Earth, so I thought if I didnt do it fast enoughm, the earth would burn up

In our old microwave, there was a square place where the light/heat came from (I guess it was the heat) that was really bright. Well I thought if I talked to it I could talk to people in Heaven. So whenever I heated something, I'd start talking to my deceased grandfather.
