I thought the speed of light was different for fluorescent light since the fluorescent light in our kitchen would take longer to turn on than the incandescent light in our dining room.

I thought that in an atom the protrons are red, the neutrons are blue, and the electrons are yellow. (I probably saw it depicted that way in a book once)
I believed that an Xray was this piece of fabric that you would go behind and would rip out your bones. After displaying them on a screen, they would sew the bones back into your body. When I had to go to the doctor so I could get an xray... you could tell that I freaked out.
When I was in 3rd grade I watched some cartoon where they mentioned Einstein and how he was a genius and came up with E=mc².
It gave me an idea.
One day when school was about to end, I took a blank piece of paper and in BIG letters wrote on it " E=mc² ". I signed my name underneath, left the sheet in the middle of my desk, and when the bell rung I went home. My hope was that my teacher would find it, would think I was a genius just like Einstein, and would advance me forward a couple grades! Needless to say my plan didn't quite work out :P
When I was a child, I used to think that the liquid inside a can of spray, hairspray, insect spray, lubricant spray, looked like the spray that came out of the can, and that it sloshed around inside, all squishy, but still in the small particles of the stuff, or in other words, dense mist.
I used to believe that I could have been born as anything. I was glad I wasn't born as a table for example, because that would be boring. Sometimes I wished I had been born a computer, because it would be fun to play video games all day. but then I realised, a computer can't move from its spot either, and can only do whatever the person using it says. then I felt sorry for my computer, so I would go play more games on it so it wouldn't get lonely.
I thought that the "smart phone" was the name of a certain phone made by a certain company. One of my classmates told me that he thought the same thing.
When I was little there would be a recording on the telephone if you held it to your ear without dialing, saying "please hang up and try your call again..." etc. I used to think that was a real woman but she wasn't allowed to say anything else. So I would often hold our house phone to my ear until she would "answer", then I would joke around, yell things at her and make weird noises, trying to make her mess up her lines or get angry at me.
I thought that cold was an actual, positive force and not just the absence of heat

I used to believe that Internet banking printed money out of the printer in our home like an ATM.
Whenever I heard people talking about a computer "interface" I thought they were talking about smileys [ ;-) :-P etc.] because I thought "interface" was short for "internet face".

I thought that 911 was the number you called for fire/emergency because that was the temperature fire burned at (i.e 911 degrees farenheit)
I thought that the universe was in the shape of a pyramid and our solar system was somewhere on the south side of it (yes I know there's no south in space but I didn't as a kid!)
when i was a kid my mom told me the moon was white because is was afraid of the earth and until i was 7 i would look out my window and taunt the moon

My grandfather told me that when he was little, he thought that if you stood on an electric cord, it would block the flow of electricity.
I thought that hydrogen was pure water (since I knew hydro- meant water) and H2O was impure some how
Since diamonds are the hardest mineral, I thought that a train could be derailed by a diamond on the track......thought about putting an old diamond ring my mother had onto the track, but never followed up on it, not wanting to be the cause of a drailment in our town! - GOOD THING!
I used to believe that when it thundered it was God moving his furniture...if you have ever sat on a floor where people on the floor above you are dragging furniture it can sound quite similar to thunder.
