When I was little I asked my mum how some eggs have chicks in and some don't. She told me that a girl hen just had to see a boy hen and the eggs would have chicks in. I believed that until I was 14!

When I was very little, I used to believe that at some point around adulthood, everyone swapped from male to female or vice versa.

When I was young, I heard my parents talking about this kid I knew named Shane, and how his mom was "24 when she got pregnant with Shane". I thought that meant his own mother got pregnant with him. Confused me for years.

When I was about 8, (and a very innocent 8 year old at that), my friend Kelly came round and she said we should have sex, I asked what that was and she replied that it's when you lie on top of one another. So we did, for about 10 minutes, and then later announced to my mum what we'd been doing. She never gave me that 'talk'. I worked it out age 13 in sex ed class.
My mother and I have never discussed this ever again, I am 20.

Instead of ANY babies, I was thinking that a condom prevented TOO MANY babies from being made. Because of how most animals give birth to many babies at a time, I assumed that humans would do the same, without the usage of condoms, and that condoms allow us to only have one or two babies (therefore, they are ALWAYS used). I thought that there was a hole in the condom that let out a little sperm.

I used to believe that when parents wanted to have a baby the dad would touch the mom's stomach and she would be pregnant.

When my mom became pregnant with my little sister, she said that God gave us a baby. I believed this until I learned about sex, but she still thinks she can tell that thing about God to me!
I used to think that being "sexually active" meant you had gone through puberty and were menstruating and able to have children. When I was 15 I read an article in Cosmogirl that said if you were sexually active you should start seeing a gyno, so I told my mom, "I should see a gyno now since I'm sexually active." That was a fun and briefly awkward conversation while she figured out what I meant.
I was at a friends house and her little sister ran up to us with her 'art'. It was in fact a pad with a mass of scribbles above it. My mum looked fondly at her and asked "Do you know what that is?"
"Yes," she replied, "It's mummies bum liner!!!!!"

When I was around 5, my mom took me to a science museum. They had a display about reproduction, which included a mural featuring sperm. After seeing this, I came to the conclusion that when parents have their "wedding kiss", sperm comes out of the guys mouth and gets the girl pregnant.

When i was a kid i red something about chewing gum flavored condoms. After that I thought some of the gum in the grocery store was used for birth control and was scared of buying the wrong kind because I didn't want anyone to think i was having sex.
I used to believed that a woman got pregnant when she married, even if she never had sex, but if she wasn't married she had to sleep with someone to have a baby.
My friend teased me and said that his parents never had sex because they where married and my parents had sex because the where not. I started crying and ran home when he told me, thinking that i really had to get married so i would not have to have sex.

When my brother was about 6 years old he found a swelled-up tampon floating in a swimming pool. He picked it up, ran over to our mom, and happily claimed that he had found a marshmallow on a string. He was very exited about it, until my mom explained what it really was.

When I was a child, I thought that I was originally in the 'tummy' of an old French woman, but everyone thought I should be in my own mummy's tummy, so the teleported me over there.

When I was 5 or 6 I heard my older sister talking to my mom about her room mate and how she always used to steal my sisters condoms. I asked them what a condom was and they said i will find out later.
I thought that condoms were like water ballons and my sister kept thousands of them under her bed.
i thought that when a man peed he actually "squeezed and wrung out" his penis like a washcloth. i forget who set me straight but i believed this until i was in my midteens

When I was a kid my parents referred to the penis as a "peepee-er" and up until I had sex education at school I thought that was the proper name for it
I used to believe that men had absolutely nothing to do with reproduction and that they were actually not needed at all. I thought they only got married and/or lived with women because they would get lonely otherwise and that some of them called themselves "the father" of the woman's children because they liked "pretending" that they helped create them and were as important as the woman.
