I used to believe doggy-style was anal sex... I believed this all through high school.

I was about 6 when my mother decided to get her tubes tied because my parents didn't want anymore kids. When she was having her operation I told evryone she was getting her tonsils tied!

Up until I was 9, and taught better, I thought a sanitary pad was for office women who were too busy to go to the toilet so they just peed into their pads, yes, like a nappy.
Imagine my amazement when I found out what a tampon did. I didn't even know I had a hole there. I used to pull the string on tampons, thinking it would turn into a mini umbrella like those in cocktail drinks.

up until i was about ten, i thought that unisex salons were places where people would go to have sex and i was too embarassed to ask if my assumption was right, i just kind of let it sit in my head and didn't say anything about it.

I came of age during the mid-nineties, right around the time Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know" came out. I remember I was really into it it and so were my friends, but I didn't understand one part of it. I remember saying to my friend, "what does she mean by go down on you?"
I thought she meant sitting on the guy's lap. My friend said to me that it was talking about blow jobs. I didn't know what these were and so I asked.
Well, needless to say she told me what a blow job was.
I was so utterly disgusted!
I said in horror, "people DO THAT?!"
We both agreed we would NEVER do that to a guy ever.

When my brother and I were little, we used to believe that when ur mum eats a lot...she becomes too fat. And all the bananas she ate became legs, the pumpkins made head and all these other foods made body parts. Then mum would vomit all the junk she didn't need and she would everyday. Then the doctor had to take the baby out by opening the tummy and then peeling off the skin of all the vegetables anf fruits...bizarrae...i know

The sex ed program at my elementary school taught us in 5th grade that you could get diseases from having sex - like AIDS - as well as getting pregnant. However, I somehow assumed that you could get AIDS from having sex with ANYONE - whether or not they had the HIV virus! I wondered why anyone would want to do something so dangerous.

my stupid little brother walked in the bathroom and seen a tampon sitting on the counter and he said"hey how come i can't get a popsicle?"

I used to believe that pregnant women could sit down on the toilet and accidentally give birth, and it scared me because the baby would likely drown in the water, but also because if it happened to me, I wouldn't want to have to reach into the poopy water for my baby.

I saw a condom machine in a mens toilet and thort it was a conudrum machine. lol.

I was 8 or so and had a lot of books about cats. One of them had a section on breeding cats, with an illustration of two cats mating and a caption like, "the male introduces the penis into the female's vagina", or something along those lines. I said to my mom, "That's what cats do, but what do people do?" She told me that people did the same thing, but seemed reluctant to explain further. I was completely baffled, because I couldn't imagine any situation when a man would insert his penis into a woman's vagina. I figured maybe it could happen by accident, like if they were walking and accidentally bumped into each other at a certain angle, it would be like, "Whoops, my penis accidentally entered your vagina, sorry!"

My parents never gave me 'The Talk' when I was younger, yet thanks to television and friends, I knew pretty much everything about sex.

Nobody ever told me about condoms though.

Until I was about 13, I thought Condoms were just another brand of antacid tablets, like Alka-Seltzer, because they were both the same shape and size when they were wrapped.

I had really bad indigestion one day, and asked my mother for a condom to get rid of my stomache pains.

...She still hasn't let me forget about that...

I had only seen condom packets and I knew that they were supposed to prevent pregnacy so I assumed they were to stick over the girl so the penis couldn't go in. Then I thought "so how is sex different from kissing naked?"

when i had sex-ed in elementary school, the nurse explained what a period was and showed us pictures. i guess i didn't see too well, because i was so confused. even though i was really shy, i went up to her after class and asked about it, but still didn't get it. i thought a period was a red dot that you got somewhere on your body...like chicken pox.

I used to think that babies came from men and women merely sleeping in the same bed.

I used to believe…

My 6 year old little sister once told me that she thought babies came out of their mother's mouth. She even opened her mouth to show me. She was absolutely baffled when I told her that babies did not, in fact, come out of mouths.

A friend told me all about humping when I was 8 or 9. It involved two people taking their pants off of course. Then one would lay down and the other one would jump on top of that person. To demonstrate he planned to jump from the handicap bathroom stall bar, which was about 3 off of the ground. He landed hard on me with all of his body weight. I decided that humping wasn't such a great thing that day.

When I was at nursery school, they had one of those dolls, the ones that you would give water to and then they would urinate. This particular one was a male, and as a result, had male genitalia. As a three year old girl, I had no idea what these were, and believed the doll had swallowed its tonsils.
