When I was about 8 a friend at school told me that sex was when a man pissed inside a woman. I confidently told him that this was rubbish and informed him that the man sprayed semen inside the woman and that semen was a kind of milk

Until I was five or six, I thought that you gave birth from a birthmark. I always wondered how it was possible that I came out of my mother's ankle.

I remember stealing one of my sisters magazines when i was younger and saw something about oral sex. I thought for the longest time that it meant you sat around and talked about sex.

I used to believe that a woman would get pregnant when she kissed a man. That's why I said to my friend one day when we were about 6 "The only reason they have a man and woman kiss at their wedding is to get a baby started." She nodded. Apparently she had the same belief. I was corrected when I joined an internet forum a year later...

— Haven't kissed anyone yet... just in case. (just kidding : P )sex : getting pregnant

This kid i was babysitting had a "Special Things Box" hidden under his bed. Well he decided to show me all thethings that were in there. They included flavored dental floss, candy, special stones, and that kind of stuff. Then he pulled out an uwrapped tampona and even thoughi knew what it was i asked him to see if he knew. (He was only 5 so i figured he wouldn't) and he said "It's a powder puff1" andthen he rubbed it on his face. Yuck!!! I left his room laughing sooo hard!

Yet another one of my misunderstandings that my friends had to sort out for me. After I had asked very loudly in the school dining room what it was.

I used to think that a boy and girl could not have a baby if they were kids

I used to believe that babies were made when a man and a woman got married and slept beside each other. I thought that the man's testicles came out of the skin while he was asleep and absorbed into the woman's stomach through her skin. I thought that they were invisible.

when I was 10 my brother told me about the birds and the bees. The story was that Burt Renalds and Sally Field were in his bedroom naked. It was a nice hot day, so the bedroom window was open. The two of them were kissing standing up at the end of the bed and a bee came in through the window stung Burt on the bum, he fell in top of Sally, they both came crashing down onto the bed. Sally hit her head on the head board and all she saw was birds flying around her head. Thats the story of the birds and the bees

As a result of helping my mom change my baby brother's diapers when I was three, I somehow reasoned that the entire purpose of a boy's penis was to help the doctor tell if a baby was a boy or a girl, which was important because the parents would have to know that in order to decide what to name it and what kinds of clothes to buy. I believed this until I learned about "the birds and the bees" when I was eleven - it was certainly a shock.

A male friend of mine got a little bit confused with anatomical terminology one day. We were walking along in a group of friends and the wind blew some grit in his eye ... upon which he yelled, "Argh" Something's gone in my clitoris!"
He was 15 at the time.

I was around 8 or 9. My mother was pregnant and I had questions! My Dad was doing the best he could explaining everything but he couldn't quite bring himself to tell how the sperm got from the man to the woman.

So, after MANY sessions going into all the anatomical stuff on each side and all the gestational stuff about the baby's progress, I finally got a little impatient and asked the crucial question.

"Dad, I understand all this stuff but HOW DOES THE SPERM GET FROM THE MAN TO THE WOMAN?"

My Dad wasn't generally a smoker but whenever we'd have one of these sessions, he was smoking. After this question he took a drag on that cigarette that consumed about half of it in one go. He said,"Well you know the man and the woman sleep in the same bed and sometimes they roll over on each other ACCIDENTALLY!" He totally ran for cover!

I still smile about this 50 years later.

When I was like 8 years old, I used to believe that babies were born when the egg from the father crawl in the midle of the night and meet up with the egg from the mother which will wait by the side of the bed.

Before i even knew about the three-hole-system, i used to think that a mother would give birth to her child through her butt-hole. because of this, i thought you couldnt poop while you were pregnant and you would have to hold your poo until you had your baby. i didnt want to become pregnant because of this.

my mother was frustrated with me asking how babies were made until she finally sat me down and tried to explain it. She said that when a man and a woman love each other very much and have been married for a long time they go to bed, take off all of their clothes and then ....make love.... then nine months later a baby comes out. (the obvious questions that surrounded what "make love" meant seemed unimportant at the time.) What I could not figure out is HOW the baby came out. My mom told me that when it was time the woman "just knew" and she would push. I asked her if it was like going number two and she said yes. I was satisfied with that answer and she was relieved. But for the next several years I would check the toilet every time she or I had gone to see if there would be a baby in the bowl.
