Being a girl, I used to believe that all the children I'm going to have are inside my stomach, waiting for their turns. And that I used to live with my little brother in my mum's tummy.

My mom told me that in order to get pregnant and give birth to a baby, woman must eat only chocolate exclusively for 9 month... and I used to believe her... Then one day we were playing in the yard and one of the older boys started scientific explanations of the process, I disagreed and we had a fight. Kids around us divided in two camps, half believed to me and half - to him. At the end we all made peace and decided that both ways probably work...

Until I was about 11 or 12, I would not go down the condiment aisle in the grocery store by myself. I thought that was where the condoms were displayed/sold and I was too embarassed to let anyone see me near a condom.

When I was about 8 or 9 I asked my mom what the word "virgin" meant. Flustered, my mom told me that a virgin was a girl who had never slept with a man. A couple months later, my uncle came to visit, and my parents told me he would have to share a bed with me because we didn't have enough room otherwise. I freaked out because I thought literally sleeping with him would cause me to lose my virginity. My parents had to explain to me just what "sleeping with" someone really meant...

When I was a kid I heard on the news that Tom Green only had one ball. (I found out much later this was because of cancer.)
At the time I assumed that the number of testicles a boy had varied. I guessed that they most commonly had 1-3. I believed this until about seventh grade.

When I was in grade 6 my friend asked if I knew what a condom was. I said, "of course I know what a condom is! It's a tall building with apartments!"

My cousin told me that "Gay" meant that you like boys, being 8 or 9 at the time i was like " oh, im totally gay" until i figured out about the sexual part....

As a 6 or 7 year old girl, my mom was showing me what my birth certificate looked like. I was really fascinated by it, until i saw the word SEX and an F right beside this. For some strange reason, I thought this meant my mom and dad had been graded F (fail) for sex. I'm just really glad I quickly learnt that sex also meant your gender...

when i was 5-6 i actually thought they were sat-navs, because it says, be safe, use a condom, and i was like, its on the radio, in a car, its a sat-nav, at eight i realised i had got it mixed up with tomtom..l
I used to believe that a child was born when 2 people got married and had their magical kiss that would make the women get pregnant. so out of curiosity i would ask my parents at totally random times how a baby was made. They would always say that it was a bad time to ask and they would tell me later

When I was little, I saw a field full of lemon-yellow flowers and asked what it was. My grandpa told me it was rape (rapeseed, now known as canola). Being the good farm girl I was, I later asked my parent what rape was used for. And being the honest man my dad is, he explained it to me in terms of our dairy goats. I was one confused kiddo until I told him about the field of yellow flowers. My mom about died laughing.

When I was around 5 years old, I heard from several friends that if you ate a watermelon seed you would get pregnant. I ate a lot of watermelon seeds that summer...I loved babies and couldn't wait to be a mom!

When I was 4 we had the entire family to our house for Thanksgiving. Back then all the women, even down to the youngest female (me) worked/prepared dinner and the men enjoyed their cigar/cigarettes in the livingroom watching football games. Apparently my mom told me to set the table with the nice silver, and special NAPKINS.. so i went on setting the table until the men started laughing & gathering around,.. the women came out of the kitchen where my mom grabbed my hand as I was placing the last silver fork ever so neatly on top of a sanitary napkin. I had set the entire table with sanitary napkins because my mom said they were the special napkins... the men giggled all through dinner while the women geered at me... this was in the early 60's taboo subject...
I'm 16 now, but until I was about 11 or 12, and I always knew the way a woman gave birth, but I always thought if the baby was too ugly or loud, that you could just return it to the hospital and get a new one.... I tried that one day when I was in the hospital, i forget with who and why, holding my crying 4 year old brother. I told the nurse that I wanted a quieter baby that was nicer.... but then my parents told me 'if it was possible to return a loud baby, I would have been returned ages ago'
Actually kinda funny looking back on it XD
I used to believe that when people got married and kissed afterwards that the kiss caused them to have a baby after they were married.
i used to think that when girls got older and got married, they could just want to have a kid and magically it would happpen.

When I was in 2nd grade I thought if a boy touched a girls stomach she would get pregnant. So one day i was out side playing and a boy toched my stomach and i cried for days!!
I used to believe that a girl was a girl and a boy was a boy because of the type of underwear they wore. Needless to ay, I had an 'accident' in school and the nurse only had boys underwear. All day I could feel 'things' growing down there!
