Like other kids, I thought a baby came from a stork. But I thought after you bought a baby at a store, it would grow for 8 or so months and the stork would deliver it. I thought that my mother's stomach stored food for the baby when it came. I remember being 4 and seeing what I thought was a stork on my neighbor's roof, and screaming to my very pregnant mom at the time that our neighbor was trying to steal the new baby.

When I was small I knew that babies grew inside a woman but I didn't know how they got there. I was told that when a couple wanted a baby they would pray to God for one. I knew that that couldn't be the only thing that would be TOO easy so some how I got the idea in my head that a woman would have to take pill to get pregnant which is hilarious because it is the exact opposite.

Just after starting my first period, my mother told me that girls can't use tampons until after they have had sex. I believed this until I was 16. My mother claims her mother told her that and she also believed it until I was 16!

When I was young every pregnant woman I knew was on WIC and therefore continually drinking apple juice. My conclusion? If you drink large amounts of apple juice an apple seed will fall in your tummy and grow a baby. Yep I told my pregnant aunt I knew where babies came from. She froze I warned her about the apple juice she laughed and agreed with me. I believed this for years. This ended up being my sex ed talk. Guess how I learned the truth.....

When I was 7 my father used to watch "cops" all the time. I would see the prostitution sting episodes and ask my father "why are they getting arrested?" He "replied because they were having sex". Needless to say for about 2 more years I thought having sex was illegal.

When I was little, the whole "Purity Ring" trend really got popular, where girls would wear a ring to symbolize that they were going to remain virgins until they got married. I used to think that "losing your virginity" meant your ring had fallen off and you misplaced it.
I used to believe like girls, boys had to cover up their chest too. I dont usually pay attention to boys at pools and stuff like that so i just think they have a top too. Once when i was watching a movie and it showed a topless man i yelled out "MOMMY THEIR SHOWING A MANS PRIVATES!!!" Then she finally set me straight lol. I was about 6.

I thought you had to get a license in order to be a parent (which acutally might not be a bad idea!)
I remember when I was a little girl, we would always receive samples of Always pads in the mail. I lived with my grandmother and she would put them in her shoes. So for years I thought you use them in your shoes when your feet hurt. She never explained what they were and I never asked or thought to read the package. I didn't find out what they really were used for until I was 13 years old.

When I was a kid, the AIDS epidemic was in full swing. There was a big push in the media to "have safe sex" and "always wear rubbers." For a long time I pictured people rolling around in full rubber haz-mat suits.

So me and my cousin are like 2 weeks apart and when we were little we used to argue on how a woman gave birth... She thought women through up babies and I thought they pooped them out, after a long arguement we then settled on babies come out the belly button till later when my older brother told us we were wrong...

When I was younger, my father was a very overweight man. I had watched my mother's belly grow as she was pregnant with my brother, and then decrease again once he was born. This of course, lead me to ask, "Daddy, when are you having your baby?" Later on I found out each one of us kids asked that very same question.

When I found out about the mechanics of sex, I was about 7 and my grandma told me about it. Of course, I told my friends, but we decided Grandma was making it up. We tried to re-enact it with Barbies, and since Barbie's legs would get in the way, there was no way it was really possible!

When my mom gave my brother and I the talk ( i was probably eight), I made sure I understood everything and said " oh so men and women make love so they can have a baby" an my mom said " yea, thats right". I was silent for a couple minutes and then turned to my younger brother concluding, " that means mom and dad only did it twice."

For quite a while I believed that a woman could get pregnant by kissing someone, because in elementary school we were shown a video about babies and they only showed a couple kissing in bed, without explaining the actual mechanics. Hence I thought couples who kissed were being extremely thoughtless and risky.

Until I was 12 I used to think that virginity was a religion. I was brought up in a very religious house hold; every Sunday I was in church. I didn't fully understand the title "Virgin Mary". In church they made it sould like it was a miracle that she was a virgin and still had Jesus. I thought that it was because you couldn't have a baby that was a different religion than you, being Jesus was a Jew and Mary was a Virgin... when I was 12 my friend set me straight.
