I used to believe…
When I was little I use to believe that a mom could decide the gender of her baby at birth. I did not know that the ambilical cord was attached to the belly button and i believed that if you wanted a boy you would leave a little bit of the cord and if you wanted a girl you would cut it all off. wow.

When my dad was little he asked my grandma how a baby was made. She got quite flustered and simply said "A seed is planted" for several years that if you wanted a baby you had to plant it in your garden

When I was just old enough to know what sex was, but too young to understand it at all, I didn't know there was any movement involved in sex, or that it took any time. I thought that one part inserted into the other part and that was it, done, they just stand there or something.

When I was about 13 years old and started my period for the first time, I was quite pleased with myself, and quite proud. As evening rolled around, it started to get later and later and finally my mother said that I had better get to bed. I asked her what time the period was supposed to stop for the night. I thought it would stop for night and then start up again in the morning. When she told me that it didn't, I was completely outraged.

I have two little stories...
1) When I was in second grade and my brother was in fifth grade, we were in the car with Mum. Dad worked for a company where we got free trips every year, and this year we were going to Puerto Rico and my brother was reading the invite. He read "cocktails and ordeurves" and thought it said "cocktails and whores", so he yelled loudly, "Gross, cocktails and whores!" I asked loudly, "What's a whore?" though Mum and my brother decided to ignore me.
Well, the next night at dinner my family was at Outback Steakhouse, and if you've ever been in one you know how crowded it is. I suddenly stood up and yelled at the top of my lungs, "DADDY, WHAT'S A WHOOORE?" The people at the surrounding tables were laughing, and I couldn't figure out why. My parents told me they'd tell me later.
2) When my brother was about two, Mum wanted Dad to teach him the "proper" names, but Dad taught him the word "dick" instead of penis even after Mum kept on telling him to teach him the "proper" name. Well, my grandpa and my brother were at a mechanic shop with a bunch of guys. My brother suddenly grabbed my grandpa's penis and yelled, "I got a big dick!" All the guys in there were laughing really hard at my grandpa, and he went off on Dad. Mum then told Dad, "Well, I told you, proper names."
My brother was a little trouble maker, ~nya? :)

When I was a kid, I never really asked my mother about where babies come from. I thought that they actually came from the stork (I used to be cartoon freak-that's where that came from). Well, when I found out that babies come from a man and a woman having sex, I was quite surprised. Talk about naivete....

When my sister was around 4, someone read her that Dr Seuss book about the things that go through a machine and the stars go onto their tummies. Somehow, she inferred that if she wanted to change into a boy, all we would have to do was put her through a machine, and she would come out the other end with a penis. I fully believe that this was because my aunt used to refer to a vagina as a womans "special star".

Until I was in college, I truly believed I had three testicles.
For most of my life I was self-conscious about my body because I was so obviously different. From an early age, I knew people should only have two, yet I very clearly appeared to have three. I was so self-conscious, in fact, that I never spoke to anyone about it or asked anyone if it was a problem.
While in college, I began to have acute pain in my abdomen. I found I could lie on my back and the pain would eventually subside. I also noticed that my "third testicle" seemed to disappear during this exercise. I did a little research and came up with a theory that needed proof. The problem became progressively worse, interfering with my daily routine and studies. I sought medical attention, and the (now obvious) diagnosis was made:
I had been born with a hernia that had never been caught.

When we staying at hotel I was about 6 and my sister was about 14. She was going down to the spa by herself and I heard my mum saying "watch out for the old men there! you never know, they take one look at you asleep in the spa and enxt thing you know you wake up pregnant!" from then on I thought that if a man looked at me in the spa i would become pregnant.
I didn't know what my clitoris was until I was 15 and I did some reading. I'd touch it a lot when I'd masturbate and I knew it felt good, but I thought it was my urethra for some reason.

When I was 9 or 10, I'd read all the teen magazines and I'd see all these ads for pads. Confused, I went and asked my mum what pads were and she said it was to avoid staining your underwear. I thought to myself, "I could use some pads," because I was starting to get discharge and it was staining my underwear, and that's what I thought my period was.
I used to believe that if a girl didn't want to get pregnant that all she had to do was have sex with two different boys, one right after the other. The resulting sperms would fight and kill each other off before impregnation could occur. Such "birth control" ignorance of children/teens is utterly amazing and there should be sex ed, with a section on "false ideas about how to avoid pregnancy."
