I used to believe…
To explain sex to me, my parents just showed my a video. It showed the sperm travelling to the egg and such, but it never said how the sperm GOT there. It never explained sex. This led me to believe that after a woman started her period, she would just constantly get pregnant unless she kept taking the pill. Her body would just keep making babies one after another.
After watching the video, this belief firmly planted in my mind, I told my mom, "When I get older I'm definitely going to be on the pill. Otherwise I'll be getting pregnant all the time." Imagine what my poor mom must have thought!

when i was a bit younger and in the 5th grade my best friend had just gotten her period. and i wasn't completly sure what it was. and i remember her saying she had to wear a pad. and so i thought that once you got your period, it stayed with you forever. so i was sooooo scared to get it. cause i just thought that you would have to wear a pad until you were an old old lady. and so i was scared that once i got it, i'd never be the same. and so i "cherished" my time period free.....
* i learned the truth in the 7th grade when we had to watch the sex video..ahahaha*

in bout the 6th grade, my friend was jokeing around and called me a dill hole...i didnt say it aloud, but at first i thought it had to do with a dill pickle...it wasnt till later when i actually found out what it meant

When I was 8, I asked my mom how did a baby get inside her stomach, she told me daddy gave her some sunflower seeds and it grew into a baby, ever since then, until I was 12, I was so afraid of sunflower seeds, I didn't want a baby in my stomach!
I truly didn't know that men needed erection to have sex until I was 12. I thought they'd just get boners if they thought the girl was pretty, but other than that, they had no use.

OK. this is probably the WEIRDEST sex belief you have ever heard! when I was very young, I would have to take baths with my two older sisters. They are about 3 years older than me (twins) and when I was younger I wondered why they had different ... parts... than me and they said that I was the only one in the entire world who had a penis. Now, I never remember being very shocked about this because they probably put it in my mind at a very early stage, so it never concerned me. Ans it was all well and good for a long time. My sisters would always make fun of me now and then even when I was about 10! i don't really know how it neve rgot back to mom and dad! If they had known they would have told me the truth! I eventualy found out the truth when I was in third grade and I saw someone elses equipment in the bathroom. I guess I had never considered how other boys could pee standing up when my sister had to pee sitting down with their equipment that I thought everyone had! Now, when I saw this, I wasn't shocked, it all made sense! When I went home, i told them that I found out and I told my parents too! They didn't get in trouble, because I don't think mom and dad understood me, but to this day they tell me of how they wanted to keep that up until I was a teenager! I'm glad I caught it first!

me and my friends were going skiing and we were staying in condos and we were with a church youth group and my friend called her mom to tell her we arrived safely but instead of saying condos she said "yeah these condoms are really nice! its gonna be fun for the next few days".

When I was younger, my friend told me that you could get pregnant by sitting on a guy's lap. It wasn't until 6th grade that I found out the truth.

I used to believe that when being born, your mom would give birth to an egg, and later you would hatch
i used to believe that if you kissed another person that was how you got pregnant. I was afraid to kiss my family members because I already knew about the disformities that could happen through having a baby with someone in your family and I remember thinking that if I kissed my sister that we would both have a baby at the same time ! KIDZ....

When my brother was about 3 years old, about the same time my mother was pregnant with me, he announced to my mother that when he grew he was going to 'grow a baby in his tummy just like her'. She was heartbroken having to explain to him that only girls can do that.

one time, I believed being a virgin meant that you HAD had sex already and not being a virgin meant you HADN'T had sex yet. So I was known as the purest girl in seventh grade. (I'm in ninth now.) So on a walk from the bus stop, my friends were teasing me in a joking way. "You're a virgin. You're a virgin!"
I yell out loud. "I AM NOT A VIRGIN!" I got stares from a lot of people. My friends and I were laughing in tears.

When I was around seven years old and lived back in CA where most of my family is, my younger cousin and my aunt came to visit us for a few hours. They told me to go into my room with her and play, so she brought her Barbies along and we were just playing with them, when she took out this plastic girl-doll that I guess was made to look like it was pregnant. You could even open up the belly (it snapped on and off) and take out a little plastic baby. Well, the little plastic baby was obviously a boy and had a little plastic penis on it. My mom always told me not to let girls see me naked and stuff, so I got scared that she wasn't supposed to see boy parts, and took it and flushed it down the toilet. I still don't know why she had a doll like that.

When I was seven I used to think that a penis was detachable. So once me and my older brother were fighting and I threatened to take his penis off and steal it. He told me that I couldn't do that. Well one night he was asleep in his boxers and I snuck into his room and tried to remove his penis. Needless to say that night I learned that penises are not detachable. My brothers screaming and anger told me that. I also learned how much it hurts to be thrown off the bed backwards and hit my head on the wall.
