I used to believe that a woman got pregnant by taking a pill that was in her wedding ring, and then she would have as many babies as she was supposed to have. I suppose I was watching "Underdog" with his magic energy pill, and hearing about "birth control pills".

When I was young, I remember seeing condoms in my father's drawer. My mother told me they were for gas. When I got older, I looked up the word condom in the dictionary and was more curious. I opened the package and was HORRIFIED! I was so scared that my father would find out I buried the condom and the wrapper in the backyard.
I remember my mom telling me when I was about 9 that a man puts his penis into a woman's vagina when they make love. I had no idea for many years that a penis actually, literally, GOES INSIDE a woman's vagina, so I just assumed that a penis goes nicely "in" the vagina: like a hotdog in a bun.

One day when I was like 5, my older brother, who was 8 was like "Hey have you heard about sex?" The way he said it, I thought it was something new that had just been invented recently, even after he explained what it was. I thought people back then just didn't do it. I believed this for a LONG time.

When I was lil I believed that you developed *ahem* breasts as soon as you put a bra on, and it didn't matter if you were a male or a female. I was sOo convinced of this because every night when my mom or aunt would take their bras off before they went to bed -it would appear that their boobs had shrunk!! I still believed this even after I got my first training bra - I would REFUSE to take it off before I went to bed, because I wanted my boobs to be big and I didn't want them to ever shrink. It took me YEARS to realize that my mom and aunt were wearing push-up or padded bras!!

I had a boyfriend who told me that my best friend had definitely slept with her boyfriend recently because people walk that "certain way" for up to 72 hours.

When I was about 11 and still flat as a pancake, I used to discipline myself to sleep on my back just in case the pressure of sleeping on my stomach slowed the breast-growth process in any manner. Now I dress to make them look smaller--aargh!!

I used to think my testicles made my pee. At 5, what else could they possibly be for?

When I was very young (about 4), I was told that I looked like my dad, but I had my mom's eyes and hair. I knew that I came out of Mommy's tummy, so I wondered how it could possibly be that I would look like my dad. The reason had to be, of course, that when a couple wanted to have a baby, they sat facing each other and STARED at each other really, really hard and decided then and there who's eyes the baby would have, whose hair, etc. I was living proof that this technique works, after all!

When my mother was expecting for the second time, when I was 5 years old, she told me that I was going to have a little sister (which she couldn't have known). Because I didn't know how babies came into the world, I looked towards the door, expecting another little girl to walk in.

When I was young I didn't know about amniotic sacs or mucus plugs or all that other fancy stuff that keeps the baby inside the womb. What I was told, was that you simply had to push the baby out. I used to think that if you touched a pregnant woman's stomach, it would be considered "pushing" her baby out, and it would come tumbling right out! I was always afraid to touch my mom when she was pregnant with my younger sister for fear of a miscarriage.

When I was a kid, my aunt was very pregnant. My uncle said she got that way by swallowing watermelon seeds. To this day, I am not fond of watermelon.

When I was a very young boy, my mom told me that women got pregnant from doing dishes. I really believed that for a while. (You can imagine how I felt when they told me I was old enough to start doing dishes).
i thought kids were born by planting a seed in a magical flawer and waiting for 10 mounths for it to grow. in the 10 mounths the mother will carry the flower where ever she goes until it's old enough to walk.

When i was getting 'the talk' from my parents my little brother walked in, i think i was about 10 and he was about 8, he walked in just as they were explaining vagina...he didnt quite catch the va bit..so for ages he was walking round saying china :P
i used to think that "making love" was two people getting naked & drawing a heart...if they decided they wanted a baby they would send thier heart to the stork.

When I first got my period, I never knew anything about it, so I thought I got a cut on my butt. I really thought I was dying.

My parrents were amature coin collectors and one day I decided that I wanted to do that myself. Sadly I started my coin collection with my fathers foil condom and my mom took it away from me and was really upset. Knowing what I know now irks me.
