Because TV programems used to always talk about "Keeping" the baby I was convinced until the age of 12 that you got pregnant randomly and then you had sex to keep it- if you ignored it, the baby would go away from inside you.

When I was very young, another little boy that I was playing with, told me that girls had teeth "down there". Of course I believed him, and therefore when I became a teen, I was afraid of becoming intimate with girls. Later on I finally realized this wasn't true, but now I'm gay.

When I was about 8 or 9 I overheard boys at school bragging to one another about their huge penises. "Mine is so big it hangs past my knees!" etc. I was concerned, so I asked my older brother (15) where he put his penis when he went #2. He looked at me confused, so I asked, "Well, does it dangle down in the water and go down the hole, or do you flip it over your shoulder?" I was very mad when he started laughing hysterically. I really thought boys had 3ft long penises.
I used to think that all animals were compatible with each other, so if you somehow managed to mate with a dog you would have puppies! I always fantasized ways that I could have baby panthers, because that would have been so cool..

I used to think that boys only got penises after they turned 18, and before that I thought they just had a little flap of skin that opened to let the pee out.

When I was young about 7 or 8 I was told what a period was. So the day after my 11th birthday I had to spend the weekend at my dad's house ( my parents are divorced ) well I was in my bedroom laying down on my bed and I seen the blood. I wasn't scared cause I knew what to expect. So I yelled for my dad and he came in and seen the blood and he thought I was dying. He was ready to call 911. But luckly I claimed him down and told him just to call my mom and to tell her I started my period. Well he called my mom and said "Um Shirley your daughter has started her um um um um period and um can you PLEASE come over NOW"!!! So my Mom comes and my dad is freaking out. So she came into my room and said "Congrations you have started your period so get use to it cause it'll be with you for along time". Well she talked to my dad and come to found out my dad was always told that a woman has a monthly vistor rather then the right word PERIOD. That is why my dad freaked out cause he never heard of it being called a PERIOD. And what was even worst my mom wouldn't let me come home she made me stay with my dad for a full week with my first period and my dad would have to go with me to the Drug store to buy pads. Thank God he knew what those were LOL.

A friend I had told me once that when she was a kid, she used to think Men had leaves as private parts. She had only seen naked statues...and they all had leaves there.

My mom told me that only married couples could have babies, and it happened when they love each other a lot, so they ask God for one. I knew some unmarried people had babies, so I thought that they "tricked" God by wearing a wedding ring, having people call them Mrs., living in the same house, etc . . . basically PRETENDING to be married.

Everyone always says that my sister takes after my mom, and I take after my dad. So my parents used to tell me that my mom had my sister, and my dad had me! It made perfect sense, too, because it seemed like he was still carrying some weight from the pregnancy!
I used to believe that women's vaginas were located on the front of their pelvis and that a man could penetrate, and have sex, just by walking forward into her and then thrusting. I didn't know that the vagina opening was actually between the legs. Then, I believed that a man impregnated a woman by urinating into her vagina and that the foam one sees while peeing was actually sperm.

My Dad always used to refer to babies coming from " The Gooseberry patch"
I caught myself on many occasions looking under neath our gooseberry plant for babies.

My sister was born when I was six. Due
to a congenital malformation she was born with a penis. Thus, I believed girls had penises too. She stood to
pee just as I did. When she was about
six she had it amputated so she would
look like a normal female. For a long time I thought the doctors may cut mine
off too.
I used to believe that if you masterbated that you went blind. I would see blind people and think that they became that way for doing that to themselves. Thank God it is not true!

When I was a pre-teen my mother gave me the "talk" about the birds and the bees by reading to me a book by Dr. James Dobson, a minister. He explained that babies were made by a husband and a wife that cared very much for each other by lying down together in a bed, very close until they feel a tingling sensation. I believe that for such a long time...he was right about the beginning and then end, but he left out how fun it was to get from point A to point B! That is a book that I will never get my daughters!

When I was about five my dad and I were on our way back from the lake. My mom was not around. I asked my dad out of nowhere where babies came from. He was really quiet, and then he asked me if I wanted to wait and talk to mommy about it. I told him no, we had a long car ride he could tell me, I didnt want to wait for mommy. He thought for a minute, and then told me that when a mommy and a daddy loved eachother they would hug and when thier bellies bounced together it made a baby.
For years I was terrified that if I hugged anyone of the opposite sex, I would get pregnant!
I only found out otherwise when I was on a playdate and my friend hugged her daddy. I screamed out, "Dont let your bellies touch, you will get pregnant!"
Thanks, Dad.... See why it is important to tell kids the truth?

To this day, I have no idea where this particular belief of mine came from, except that it was a sudden theory that came to me when I was sitting in the playground in 3rd grade. There was a girl whose older sister had told her what sex was and the girl was so excited that she knew a "secret," so she refused to tell any of us what it was.
So, of course, I was mystified and I sat in the playground for twenty minutes, trying to figure it out. Somehow I came to this conclusion:
Sex was when a man and a woman went to a restuarant and had a tea party, just the two of them. The girl would giggle a lot and the guy had to smile for one hour straight and then, when things went well, they got to drink very delicious tea. And then, -poof-, they'd look under the table and there'd be a small child there.

Making Babies
I was the oldest of two children in my family. When I was four I was told that my mom and new brother were coming home from the hospital. So I thought that's where babies were made. I thought it was done in an operating room with a doctor supervising the whole procedure. When I was around eight I finally realized this wasn't so but I did ask my Mother one question, " Mommy,
does it feel good when you make a baby?"
She let out a little giggle and said "why yes it does".
I was probably about 6 or 7. I had a small rash a little below my belly button (the button on my pants was nickel, which i was allergic to). When I saw this, I ran into my mom's room yelling "MOM! I'M GROWING A PENIS!" I was quite distressed, for I liked being a girl.

My mom told me that my dad told her that you both have to have an orgasm to get pregnant. My mom was 16, dad was 20, and needless to say, 9 months later I was born.
