I used to believe…
When I was little I used to think that people got pregnant when they got married.

Well, my friend I had a friend, Crissie, who's little brother thought that to be impotent meant you couldn't read. He had the words mixed up (illiterate) and he kept telling us that Bo Jackson was impotent, and Crissie and I could NOT understand how he would know that. He got very upset that we didn't believe him and he blew up at us, "I swear he's impotent! It says so in Sports Illustrated! HE CAN'T READ!!" We never let him live it down. Sorry Bryce!

When I was about 3 or 4 I used my mom's diaphragm as a water cup after brushing my teeth, I thought I was so grown up swishing water and gargling. I didn't realize where it had been. . . Imagine my horror when she told me.

When I was young I used to believe that you could buy a baby from a catalogue. They always showed the babies in the coaches you could buy but I wanted the BABIES. I used to beg my mom to buy one. Instead of telling me you couldn't buy babies she just said, "I have enough with you and your brother!"

When I was about 7, I met a blonde woman who had a redheaded baby. After she left, I exclaimed to my mom that she must of stolen the baby. When my mom asked me why, I told her because the baby had red hair and the woman didn't. Therefore, in my mind there was no way that baby belonged to that woman. My mom tried to explain that children don't always have the same hair color as their parents. Which to an extent I believed because I was blonde and my mom a brunette but because redheads were so rare to me, I just "knew" that only two redheads could make a baby with red hair. I refused to believe otherwise.
I had gotten my first period when I was 13 and I was at volleyball practice. I had felt something come out of my vagina and I ran to the bathroom and I saw all this brown stuff in my underwear. I was terrified. I thought I had a pooping problem since it was brown. I didn't even think it was my period. The thought never even crossed my mind. So, I waited about 2 days to see if it would stop and it didn't so I decided to tell my mom. I was SO relieved when I found out it was just my period.
I used to believe…
When I was little, I told my mom that I wanted to have 5 children and that they would all be boys. She then told me that it wasn't up to me because men determined the gender of the baby. And that was all she said, she didn't explain any of the logic behind it. So for the longest time, I thought that meant that men got to choose if they wanted a boy or a girl. In my mind I worked it out like this: When the woman was only a few months pregnant, the father-to-be would put his hand on her pregnant belly and say whether he wanted a son or daughter and that's what they would have. I guess I figured that involved some kind of magic. I didn't figure out otherwise until I was 10.

I used to believe that giving a "blow job" literally meant that you put your mouth down and blew air on the other person! Embarassing!
I got my period two weeks after I turned 10. Then a couple of months later, one December, the entire month went by and no period. I was so scared! All I knew was that if you didn't get your period, it meant you were pregnant. Being a virgin of course, I was scared out of my mind as to how it happened. For a while I was even believing I was either going to be the next Virgin Mary and give birth to the new savior or that I was carrying "the devil's" child. Being that my family wasn't religious, I kept thinking "Then why would God choose me?" and that only meant that it had to be the other option, I was going to give birth to the child of Satan! I was so paranoid and scared because I had seen The Omen before. I didn't want to tell my mom because I thought she wouldn't believe me that I was a virgin. Needless to say I had never been more relieved in my life when my period came the next month. Later on I finally got up the courage to ask why I skipped a month and then learned about stress and all the other factors that can mess up your cycle. Looking back now, I laugh at how stupid it was to think those things. But at 10, I was pretty convinced that I was pregnant by some divine conception.
I used to believe…
Once when I was still in kindergarten, I used to believe that in order for women to have babies, they would have to pray to God and ask for a baby boy. Somehow or another, the baby grows up rapidly into a grown man. Then, somehow or another, the woman will get pregnant after this took place.
i was told by my cousin when i was 6 that to get pregnant a boy had to pee in my belly button. she told me that her doctor told her so i believed it for a while.

I used to believe that virgins were an organized reliougous group who chose not to have sex.

When I was about 5, I used to believe that whenever I pooed, I would have a baby. The women on television had to push a lot to have the babies so it made perfect sense. Every time I went to the bathroom, I would check the toilet for babies...I didn't want to flush my child away!

As a kid I didn't know anything like "SEX" exsisted. I used believe if a girl falls in love with a boy or they get married, the girl becomes pregnant. Later when I got to know sex exsisted, I believed the guy would just put his thing into girls and lay still and had no idea for how long!
i used to believe that you could determine the gender of you baby by the position your where in during sex.
example:
-women on top = a girl
-man on top = a boy
Silly me ;-)!!!!
I was a very naive child. When I first discovered it was possible to have a baby without being married, I was puzzled. My mother explained it thusly: "Sometimes a boy and girl or man and woman get too close before they are married, and accidentally make a baby." I swear I was at least eleven before I stopped fearing that I could become pregnant if one of my male classmates rubbed up against me too closely, for example, sitting on the bleachers at a crowded ballgame. See why it's important to be honest when kids ask questions?
I used to believe you could get pregnant by eating a whole jar of peanut butter. My mom couldn't figure out why I refused PB&J sandwiches for months on end! Needless to say, when I found out the truth, I didn't trust my babysitter anymore!
I used to think that the word Ass was slang for a boys penis. One day I was riding my bike and a bunch of teenagers said "nice ass" I told them I didn't have one because I was a girl. They laughed at me, and I went home crying, now knowing what an ass hole really was...
