I used to believe…

When I was very young I firmly believed that girls got pregnant because they wanted to...in other words if they said they wanted it, it would happen instantaneously. So I spent the better part of every day saying out loud, "I don't want to be pregnant...I don't want to be pregnant..." What a goofball.

I was talking on the phone with one of my friends. (a guy) well we got into questions about penis's. I was courous so i asked if there was a bone in it. He said no. I was really surprised.

When I was in elementary school, someone told me that for a woman to get pregnant the man had to pee in the woman's mouth and she would become pregnant. I now realize that kid was extrememly misinformed on oral sex and conception, but at the time I believed it wholeheartedly.

My eldest child was born when I was 19 and very niave. Just before my due date one of the nurses at the OB office told me that after birth most women experience bleeding similar to that of a menstrual cycle and she recommended that I make sure I was prepared with the appropriate supplies at home. After that visit I stopped by the market for TAMPONS! A few days later it seemed pretty obvious tht wasn't what she meant.

This happened about the time I was first starting to use the toilet on my own.

My mom would take me to the bathroom, and sometimes I would notice that she would put these weird things in her underwear. I thought that it was there so that she could pee without having to go to the bathroom. I wanted to do the same thing, so when she wasn't looking, I used to wad up some toilet paper and put it in my underwear too.

When I was eleven and got my first period, it all made sense...

I used to think that a condom was a electric chip that a man put on the tip of his penis in order to not have a baby.

When I was a kid I use to think that the color of the blanket (Blue or pink) that the doctor wrapped the baby in determined the sex.

when i was 5 i found a condom under my dads bed and i thought it was a special plaster for a boy penis but i fluushed it down the toilet

When I was in grade school, I used to believe that couples only had sex to procreate ... so I would watch Ricki Lake (the baby-sitter was a big fan!) or other talk shows, and the couples would discuss the frequency of their sexual activity -- 3x per week, 5x per week, a couple times a month, etc -- I would be amazed and think, "Wow! My parents have only had sex 3 times!" (I had 2 younger sisters ... )

WHEN I WAS 10 I THOUGHT BEING A VIRGIN WAS SOMETHING BAD. SO WHEN KIDS WOULD TEASE ME AND ASK ME IF I WAS A VIRGIN I WOULD SAY "HECK NO!"

I was watching a movie when I was little (5 or 6), with my dad, and a female character took off her coat, and underneath it was a purple bra and underwear. The male character looked at her and said something about a condom. When I asked my daad about this, he said it was something that men slip on thier "hotdogs" that looked like a rubber. Until I was 12, I thought a rubber looked something like an inflated rubber float that you wear to the pool when you can't swim. How could that fit on a hotdog without being crushed, and why would a woman want a hotdog, and a thick piece on rubber in her anyways? I imagined the man and woman all ready to have sex, and the man would put a rubber, clear kiddie pool float on a hotdog, and pump the woman with it... man I was stupid

when I was little and asked my Mom how the baby got out of a lady's tummy, she told me that ladies have a "special hole" for the baby to come out of. I thought that the " special hole" was your belly button!

A few years later, my little sister saw my Dad's belly button and thought that he was pregnant!-she must have used the same logic!

when i was in year 4 (age 9) i knew EVERYTHING about sex (or so i thought.) anyway, my friend and i were talking about giving birth, and she was really worried that when the baby came out it would be covered in...poo, coz she thought it came out of your bum! i tried to explain that there was another hole, the VAGINA, where the baby came out, but she insisted that there were only two holes, and it came out of your BUTT. bless..

When I was in kindgergarten, one of my sisters got pregnant. Another sister and me tried to figure out how it happened. We knew it took a male and a female and had to do with your private area. We had also heard of the "pill" but didn't know what it was. So, we pieced everything together and came up with this: The guy takes the pill and puts it in the girl's butt and that's how you get pregnant.

Seems that many people had my same belief, but it used to really fill me with fear. I too believed that mothers pooped their babies out, but they did so while sitting on the toilet. I always used to worry about the babies drowning in the water and wondered how the mothers were fast enough to clean themselves and also save their babies.

I remember learning that sex involved the penis entering the vagina but I didn't understand what you do while it was in. I thought you just went to sleep like that.

When I was little, I discovered condoms (still in their wrappers) in my parents' bathroom and naturally had to ask my mother. She just told me it was to prevent making a baby. I assumed from the way the looked, they went on the woman's breasts during sex and somehow prevented a baby. I didn't know the basics of sex at that time...
