I came from a very prudish family that was tight-mouthed about sex and such things. When I got to high school, a sex education class was the first time I'd ever been encouraged to discuss or learn about such things. But I became a joke that I was never able to live down for the rest of high school because I made reference to how "a girl has a different-shaped penis from a boy". I actually knew what I was talking about apart from not knowing then that the word "penis" is not used for everybody's "wee-wee". But rumors never quit circulating around the school that I "thought girls had penises" with that being interpreted to mean I thought their organs that they peed with were just like boys'

When I was little, I saw the episode of "I Love Lucy" in which Lucy is giving birth. As Lucy and Ricky are in the hospital, Ricky's sitting on the bed next to his wife, acting all happy and joyful, and they kiss. Then the nurse walks in and says something like, "No kissing. That's what got you into this mess in the first place." This lead me to believe that you got pregnant by kissing. Only for a short while, however, after which I forgot about it.

My mom told me when I was about 6 that a woman had cravings when she was pregnant. I thought that if she got what she had a craving for, then she would go into labor. I thought this until I was about 8, and one day I really wanted some potato chips, and I got some out of the pantry and ate them. It made sense to me because i thought men usually had the babies but it would switch around if they got married. and switched skeletons! Maybe i should not have watched the movie "junior" (where arnold S gets pregnant) when i was so young....
