I heard a news story about women and jogging and it mentioned that women who jog had healthy pregnancies and totally misunderstood it.
Some time later my mom and her friend were talking about babies and my mom commented that I didn't know where they came from and I piped in that I did - jogging.

When I was a very small person, and I'd just got to grips with the fact that eye colour was inherited from your parents, I was convinced that it wasn't possible for two people to have children if they didn't have the same eye colour.
I only found out the other day that when babies are inside their mommys bellies that they had gulls and when they came out the gills healed over .....i am 14 and only just found that this is not true
I used to think that by kissing my doll or rubbing that place where it felt so good I could get pregnant! I prayed to God after I masturbated that I would not get pregnant!

When I was little, my rarely saw my parents kiss, or hug, or have any type of physical contact. This was not because they disliked each other or had a bad relationship, but because they were like any other normal, Asian parents. So one day, when I stumbled into my mom and dad's closet and found a box of condoms, I was incredibly confused. I used to think that perhaps my dad wore the condoms everyday to protect himself from getting raped by other, nasty women. I refused or never really believed that my parents who *gasp* ever have sex together.

On TV movies the man always lays on top of the woman and I thought that babies were made by that pressure. I knew nothing of penetration!

When I was grade 4 my aunt and mom gave me this harness and straps with this huge mattress of a menstrual pad and told me the time was coming when I would have to wear it because grown up blood wouldsoon start coming. I had no idea how it would go on and imagined it went around my thigh. I kept checking my right thigh for the hole opening up I would bleed from.
I used to believe that the neonate ward
in an hospital was a super-specialized
sort of store for babies . . . you went
to the hospital, the same way you went
to the butcher or bakery, and pointed
out the one you wanted; then, they sent
you home with your new kid. This belief
was reinforced by the fact that my mom
had a no-show pregnancy when I was 5.
We've got a picture of her at ~8 months,
in a bathin suit; and, all you'd say was
that she had a little beer belly.

Why some people had an "in-y" versus an "out-y" bellybutton really confused me. Because I never saw a female with an "out-y", I surmised males grew a new "part" out of their stomachs and it was all part of their growing process. Imagine my shock when I saw boys with their stomachs showing!

When I was little I used to think you could become pregnant from kissing and that babies came out of your belly button.

While working out how babies happened I came to the conclusion that something must happen to a womens body when she put on a wedding ring. So when my unmarried aunty had a baby I made my mum squirm by asking how come she had a baby without having the ring on her finger to make her pregnant....

When my mom was pregnant with my younger sister, I overheard her telling someone on the phone that she was the "black sheep" in her family.
Imagine my moms embarassment the next time I announced that my mom was pregnant...with a black sheep!

Up until I was about 10 years old I used to think that when you got your period, a rush of blood would come out of your vagina once a day for 3-8 days per month. I didn't know why anyone would want to wear pads or tampons the entire day.

I used to believe babies came out of your anus. It was just unfathomable to me that your vagina could stretch that much.
I didn't know I a separate orifice for my urethra until I was 12. I always had thought that my urethra emptied urine into my vagina and then exitted my body.
Also, I didn't know what my "private parts" were called until I was 6 years old. How unfair. My brother had a penis, but my whatever-it-was had no name. Then it took me a few years to sort out the difference between a vulva and a vagina

When I was little I used to believe that to have sex, the man would have to suck the womans boobs and that was it and would not believe anyone that tried to tell me different. Later on in sex ed when they explained the way everyone else had tried to explain to me I couldnt get over it.

when i was little, i thought that there was a big factory filled with fish tanks full of babies and ladies would come in and say that they wanted babies, so a man would hook a vacuum up from the fish tank to the lady's belly button and it would suck the baby into her belly.

My 6 year old daughter walked in on my 4 year old son while he was peeing. He had retracted his foreskin and my daughter thought his penis was a tube of lipstick!
