I remember when I found out that you had to have SEX to make babies. I was so disgusted. I could not believe that my parents had done that three times! I vowed that I would just adopt children. Of course, I still may adopt in the future, but as a woman in her mid-twenties, I look forward to making babies. . .but not quite yet. I'll stick to contraception, thanks! ;)

When I was about 5 years old,as I a joke I asked my mom how baby's were made (seeing kids ask it all the time on t.v.) Well my mom, being a nurse, went in to full detail.Needless to say,I wanted the stork to bring my brother home and hope to god that my mom was lying.

When I was born my mother had to have a c-section. For years I didn't know what c-section was. I remember one day I saw her scar on her stomach. I thought the only way for the baby to come out was the doctor had to cut the mommy's stomach open and take the baby out.

When I was little I knew how babys were made, but I thought it happened with clothes on.

When I was eight years old, I was under the impression that women became pregnant in much the same way as they caught a cold, by falling victim to an errant germ. I got that impression from a REDBOOK article in which one woman's difficulties in conceiving were detailed. I used to read everything in the world when I was a six-year-old kid - REDBOOK, ESQUIRE, THE COMPLETE EDGAR ALLEN POE, everything.

After that, I overheard my parents discussing, in hushed terms, a local unmarried woman who had become pregnant. Thinking it odd that they would consider this woman different from other prospective mothers, I said "Why does a woman need to be married to have a baby? I read an article about an unmarried woman having a baby".

My mom said, "That was a very bad woman". Both mom and dad refused to explain further.

When I was a kid, I thought "rape" meant removing one's sandals in public, usually in a public park.

A classmate in fourth grade claimed "pewter" meant a man placing his penis in a woman's breast, and I and the rest of my class believed it. Our teacher was baffled whenever her references to ancient pewter artifacts were greeted by giggles.

Well, when I was 6, I always thought having sex was just kissing. Then one day, I heard my sister saying to her friend that she had never had sex in her life.

So, being the little rude kid that I was, I burst into her room and said, "You've never had sex? Me and Anthony have sex at the playground everyday!"

She and her friend just burst into laughter. They still bug me about that. Whoopsy...

I was 14 and sat on my boyfriends lap, I kissed him and my mom saw us. She took me aside and told me.. "That's how girls end up pregnant!" For years I NEVER sat on a guys lap, and spent many hours wondering how many kids got pregnant after sitting on Santa's lap.

when i was little, about 6 or 7 i knew sex was when a boy and a girl slept together, but i had no idea that guys got an erection when they were aroused, so i just imagined that they would lie mashed together with one person on one end and the other on the other end. i always thought it would be very uncomfortable to have sex because the other person's feet would be in your face!! it wasn't until several years later i finally figured out how it all worked.

Back in my days of innocence, I used to believe that a man had to pee inside a woman for her to get pregnant. 16 now and still think of that...good thing I never tried it on with anyone as a young age...could have been a bit of a messy job.

In year (or grade) 7 we learned about sex education, a fun time for all in the lesson, no work..just sit there and giggle at the teacher using rude words.
The teacher told us (the boys, in a seperate room)as to what we could expect from puberty, and the plus's and minus's it brings.
One being Sexually Transmitted Diseases, the teacher mentioned this and we were all confused, he later used the term 'STI'...one of my friends used the remark 'My dad drives an STI', he continued to tell people around the school not realising it was a GTI not an STI.

Upon discovering my mom brought these strange new (to me) tampons into the house it scared me greatly.
On shopping trips I would return home and help empty the shopping bags, only to discover a box of tampax...I grabbed the box and ran around the house shouting 'Moms brought TNT, shes gonna blow the house up!'...parents slightly blushed about the whole affair, my mom took them off me. Upon me asking her what they were for, she replied 'I'll tell you when your older'...older as I am now, she never told me, I might have to ask her one time to see the look on her face.
