I thought I was going to die when I saw blood on my panty. I was scared, kept this to myself and cried silently. Then eventually I told my mom and said its normal for females to have menstruation.

Until I was fourteen years old and in grade nine, I believed home pregnancy tests worked the same way as oral thermometers (you put it under your tongue and wait a few minutes, and then it tells you if you're pregnant or not). Imagine my shock when I was hanging out in the music room one day, and I found out the truth by overhearing some of my older friends talking about home pregnancy tests, lol.

When I was about 10 or so, my aunt and uncle owned an emergency tire service company for 18 wheelers. There were two phones in the house, one for business and one for work, which none of the kids in the house answered. Well one day the house phone rang and some guy asked how much a blow job cost. Thinking he had the wrong phone number but needing some help with his tires I ran into the dining room where all the workers and family were having lunch and blurted out how much a blow job was, imagine 10 adult faces turning red at the same time....for years I thought blow jobs always meant something to do with tires.

In sixth grade somehow the topic of babies came up. My teacher was saying something about how the father had to catch the baby when a boy named Ralph raised his hand.

"Yes?" Said the teacher.

"Why does the dad have to catch it?"

The teacher looked at him kind of puzzed for a moment, and before he could answer Ralph continued--

"Does it shoot out like a football or something?"

after hearing about the virgin mary in church, i asked my mom what a virgin was, and she said it was a girl who hadn't fully developed yet, like mary, since she was so young. when i was in the 5th grade, my friend dara got her period. my mom heard about it from my teacher, and she told me. so for awhile i would say that dara wasn't a virgin anymore.

when i was around 1st grade age, i was always scared that i was going to get pregnant, since i didn't know the facts of life yet. around that time we had a family reunion at my aunt's house. all the kids were going to sleep over, so i had to share a bed with my cousin paul, who is my age. a few days later, i asked my mom how women get pregnant, and she said, "as long as u don't sleep in the same bed as a boy, u won't get pregnant." she couldn't understand why i burst out in tears!

When I was little I saw that my mom had some lacy underwear. I figured that it must be so that the man's semen could go through the lace without them having to have intercourse. I thought it was for people who wanted to have a baby but didn't want to have sex. I didn't understand why anyone would wear something as uncomfortable and itchy as lace next to their private parts.

When I was three years old my mom was pregnant. The doctor and everyone thought the baby was going to be a boy. But my mom gave birth to a girl. When I heard that I said "Well, it can still be a boy."

I used to believe that a woman's period was just a little simple thing. Like a tiny little bit of blood and that was all. I never understood why the ads for pads and tampons made such a big deal about it. I figured that when I got my period I would just ignore it instead of making a huge deal about it like the ladies in the ads. I was incredibly shocked when I found out, from better informed friends, it could last up to seven days and you couldn't just ignore it.

I used to believe that you could only get pregnant when you were married, and that when you did the baby grew from a seed that was in your stomach

I babysit this little boy (about 5)and he was looking at my chest one day. After staring for a few awkward moments, he said, "What are those cushions on your chest?" "Well they're things only girls get." "You mean I'll never get them...." He then looked very dissappointed. "I want them, becuase I fall a lot, and they would make it hurt less. Accept I would DEFINETELY want mine to be bigger than yours." I tried acceptionally hard not to laugh.

I used to believe that if you had a baby at 19, you were HORRIBLE, because thats "teen pregnancy." But if you had a child at 20, it was perfectly OK.

When i was little i asked my mom what a period was. She told me it was when your body started changing. I had also heard it referred to as a red spot. So i thought that you got a red pimple on your thigh, and your face started to morph so you looked totally different then how you looked before you had your period.

When I was about or 7 I overheard my mom, who works in a medical office, talking about the free flavored condoms they had recieved at work. One day, while at her office, I saw the condoms and thought they looked an awful lot like gum. I believed that a boy and girl would each chew on one while having sex. That was until I was 10 and was taught how they were reall used in sex education. Boy did I feel stupid.
