I used to believe…
When my sister and I were little (were 2 yrs. apart) she came to me one day and said she seen something horrible. She went to knock on her friends door and she thought her parents were having "sex" (who knows what they really doing, they could have been vacuuming or anything because she really didn't understand that concept yet)Well anyway, I had convinced her that she had done something really bad just by seeing that (that was mean, I know)and she was mortified. I told her that I was going to tell our mom and dad, but she begged me not to and said she'd do anything! so for close to 2 yrs. I blackmailed her, and she cleaned my room and did my chores and I always got the front seat! Finally one day my mom couldn't take it anymore and said she didn't care what it was but just to tell her! so my sis told her and my mom made me do all of HER chores. But We still joke around and laugh about it :)

Once in the second grade, I saw a "balloon on the school ground at recess. I ran towards it, and started blowing on it. Being curious my other friends followed me. One of the girls called the teacher... Come to find out it was a condom. Til this day nobody knows if I actually blew on it. Which I did. OH! The shame!

My mom told me that kids appear after long time relationship, they are just born when people love each other for significant period of time, suprisingly this belief last till I was about 12!

hahaha...I used to think that the only way to have sex was missionary style (I didn't know the name) and there was only one position. How confused I was, at 12, reading a cosmo magazine, reading words like "doggy style". I finally concluded that that was when you have sex with the girl on all fours like dogs, etc. Never occurred to me it could be laying down.

From the time I was old enough to "know" about sex, my mother had always told me that she would be able to tell when I lost my virginity, just by the way I would walk the day after! Imagine how funny I must have looked the next day when I was trying to hide this fact from my mother! LOL! Anyway, it was not until quite a few months later that my mother learned I had most certainly lost my virginity from the news that she would soon be a grandma!

Okay, here's another one for my sister: My parents had an old cab-over camper, you know the kind that fit in the back of a pick up truck. It sat in the backyard rotting for years. Well, one day my 24-year-old half-sister asked my parents why they kept it. They told her that my 5-year-old brother was conceived in it during a hunting trip they took years ago. She promtply asked, "He went with ya'll?" My dad replied, "Yeah, he went with me and came back with her", pointing at my mom.

I use to think taht anyone could get pregnant and have a baby. So one day I decided that my mom gave birth to my dad and my dad gave birth to my sister, my sister gave birth to my brother (even though he was the oldest), and my brother gave birth to me. It made me happy to think my brother was my life giver... But thinking back.. That bit is VERY scary.
I used to believe that when girls became women, they would start producing babies, much like a fruit tree produces fruit. I wondered how a woman's body knows when she is married, and worried that my body may be off, and start producing children before I got married. I went to my mother, and remarked, "I hope I don't have any babies before I get married." My mother responded, " I hope not too." I was the REALLY worried then as I knew it was possible!

When I was about 9 I started growing breasts. However, after just watching a special on The Discovery Channel about breast cancer, I was frightened that the lumps on my chest were, in fact, cancerous. I was so frightened. Eventually, I told my parents about it and my dad just laughed and said "What do you mean, you don't even have any breasts to get cancer in!"

My friend who first got her period was in 4th grade. One day in the lunch line she told me that her mom told her that she got her peroid. I thought that her mom went out and bought her this thing. So I went home, and asked my mom if she would buy me a period.

When my sister and I were girls and saw femenine pads in my mom's drawer we were so excited to find small pampers for our dolls, we actually attempted to go out with our dolls wearing those "pampers", of course our mom didn't let us, so I asked her what it was and she told us that they were used to remove make up, so we believed her until 6th grade when we actually found out the truth.

When I was 5 my mother had twins. I was overjoyed at having a new brother and sister but they had stolen my bedroom (the big one) and I had to move into the little room. To be assured that I would be not kicked out of this room I asked my mother one day if she had had her baby maker turned off. I'm not sure where I came up with the idea but I can clearly remember what a "baby maker" looked like. I thought there was a metal tube inside a woman that made babies and when a woman decided to not have any more children the doctor would turn the big red switch on the side to OFF. My mother assured me that her baby maker had been turned off.
I thought that oral history was about history of people having oral sex.
