My mother always used to tell me not to be afraid when I started to see blood in my underwear. She explained the whole thing about having periods, and it scared me to death. I thought that once you started, you never stopped.

When I was little I once saw a dogs disgusting 'red rocket' penis, and for a long time I thought that's what all men had. When I got older I eventually asked my mom how she could stand making out with my dad and not throw up. After a long laugh, my mom had to explain to me that it really didn't look like that.

In Sex Ed. in 5th grade, one day someone mentioned condoms, and the teacher said she would bring one in tomorrow.
The next day, the girl in our class who had been held back was telling everyone about how last year the condom had "popped off" the cucumber being used fot the demonstration. I, being innocent and having no idea what a condom was, immediately assumed it was some sort of explosive device.
When the teacher begain the demonstration, I inched my chair backwards to avoid being caught in the line of fire. When I reallized what a condom actually was, I felt silly.
The funny thing is, I was in another sex ed. class a few years later and, when we were given a condom demonstration again, I found I was still afraid of them.

When my cousin and I were young (about 11 or so), we thought that condoms were worn by guys who didn't wanna take time out of their busy schedules to go pee in the toilet. I felt really stupid when I found out the truth...
I always used to wonder why women said they were "trying" to get pregnent. I thought that babies just appeared in the women's stomach (I didn't understand the concept of a womb either)if she hoped hard enough, and the women only knew when their bellies began getting big. I believed this even after I learned about sex!

When I was a freshman in high school, a friend announced to us that she had lost her virginity. She went on to explain that her boyfriend had asked her to give him a blow job. She thought that it was when the woman was on top. Imagine that he got more than he bargined for. When we explained that her sexual encounter wasn't a blow job, but sex, she then asked "whatya do, blow on it?".

For the longest time, I didn't know about labor. I just thought women decided they were ready for the baby to be born, went to the hospital, laid down, and POP! If only it was that easy!
I used to think that consuming any Carnation product (they make powdered milk and stuff like that) would make you pregnant. I remember that my mom made me some chocolate Carnation instant breakfast once, and after I drank it down, I glimpsed the box from which it came. I was horrified. I was only 6, so the idea of giving birth was daunting. I suffered alone for a day, until that night when my mother tucked me in my bed and I burst out crying, "I don't want to be pregnant!"
She must have been very confused and alarmed, but I told her that I drank the dreaded Carnation and she straightened things out for me.

when i was four years old i learned what the word prostitute meant. i never really saw the word again until 3 years ago when i was in the 6th grade. well, at least i thought i saw it. we had a vocabulary list with the words and definitions, and one of the words was prosecute, as in what you do to someone in court. i read it once over quickly and i was so convinced it was prostitute that i didn't even bother to read the definintion. i went home to my mom and told her that they were teaching us about prostitutes and stuff like that at school. she got very mad because she thought they really were. she called up the main office to complain and everything. needless to say i was in a lot of trouble when she found out the truth.

When i was little, I used to think that sex was only a man and woman touching private parts. It made NO sense, until I figured out that the one thing goes into the other and THAT'S sex. LOL!

This isn't really funny, but it is dumb. When I was about 10, I didn't have my period yet. So I would wonder what tampons were for and what pads were for. I knew it had something to do with periods. I would see commercials for tampons that would say "So comfortable, you can't even feel 'em." So, then I decided pads were like tampons. So I took a pad from my sister and put it on. In my room, I would pretend I was in a commercial and was doing an add for pads, thinking they were exactly like tampons. I was mad because I COULD feel the pad. I was happy once I finally realized how wrong I was during puberty classes!
