I used to believe that when a woman had her period, her urine would turn to blood, and the only reason you had to wear a pad was in case you couldn't make it to the bathroom in time, during your period. And when i first got my period, I thought that my pad would somehow leak, so I ran to the bathroom every 20 minutes to check the back of my pants, adjust my pad, etc. The thought of anyone seeing blood on my pants horrified me. Still does.

Up until I was about 14 years old, I never really understood a man's private parts. I always thought that when people said "balls", they were referring to the penis. I had pictured a man's penis to be made up of two balls smushed together, kind of like a snowman. Hmmm.

When my mother first told me about periods (I was maybe five or six) she said, "You first start your period around eleven or twelve. You go through menopause in your 40's." I took this to mean that once you started your period you had one, continuously, until you reached menopause. I was very suprised when my first period stopped (I even went so far as to ask her if anything was wrong with me). My mother says she was shocked to discover I not only had I developed this odd idea, but that I hadn't been upset about it at all! I just figured, since my mom told me it was natural, I'd just go with the flow (no pun intended).

I thought sperm were fish and when I got a goldfish I went around telling everyone i had a sperm
I would think that in order to have sex the male had to pee in the female. I always wondered if you had to wait until you boyfriend had to go to the bathroom or if sex made him pee...not to mention i thought it was the grossest thing in the world (not the sex the peeing part)

when i was younger, i believed that girls got pregnate by eating peas. because of the little seeds on the inside. my cousin had a poster on her wall that had a bunch of pea pods and babies inside them... that is was gave me the idea. i didn't eat peas for as long as i could remember and it was hard because i loved them.
I used to believe that 'bell end' meant just that. The end of a bell. I had heard my friend call someone it when we were 11 (and female, for the record), and as most calling words were just objects at the time anyway ('spanner', 'spoon', 'plumb' etc) I assumed it was just the object.
Then later, I was in the car with my Dad and some guy cut him up. My Dad shouted "Idiot!" and I pipped up "Yeah, stupid bell-end!" and my Dad screetched on the brakes, said, "WHAT?!?!" and asked me what I had said and if I knew what it was. I said, what I thought and he didn't seem to believe me but drove off and it was never mentioned again. Except a ton of times to me mates in the pub.

When I was little (maybe 9) I heard to have a baby you had to "sleep together". Well, when I slept over at my friends house we fell asleep on the couch but so did her brother. I got really worried and I thought I was going to have a baby!

I remember being about 4 and sitting naked in the tub. I was a little girl and thought I would eventually grow a penis, too. I thought that being a complete human being or grown up, meant having both genitals.

ive always kinda had the basic idea of sex, but i never understood how you knew when you were going to ejaculate. I thought the only way for sperm to come out was to sleep night after night with your penis in the girl until you had a wet dream, boy, am i glad that is wrong

When i was younger, i used to believe that many women, when they grew up, grew penises. I Also believed that some girls i knew secretly had penises. I used to think all these 'dirty' people combated their 'problem' by using 'willy-remover'(and that is what i thought it was actually called aswell), a white paste in a blue paper sachet that they applied on the 'problem area' with a spatula.
I had to tell my 17 year old boyfriend that when a girl has her period the blood actually comes OUT of her body. He was extremely grossed out! I still haven't figured out what he thought happened to it!
