My mum explained to me that a man must give a woman his seed (it means semen in my language) when they want a baby. And I imagined it looks like that fluffy dandelion seed which woman needs to swallow.

Comment my 3 year old son made when I was trying to explain what a pregnant woman was. I said, pointing out to my son that the fat lady wasn't fat, it was just that she had a baby in her tummy. He turned to me and said, "Daddy why did that lady eat a baby?"
Because of my elder siblings' addiction to American movies on TV, I used to believe that babies were created by a passionate kiss between a man and a woman.
I learnt about the 'real' way from my classmates when I was eleven.
When I was, like, 4 years old I was informed of the 'baby factory'. When ever I misbehaved, my sister, mother, aunt, etc, would threaten me with 'your going to go back to the baby factory!' So one day in a car ride I was being a little brat. Once again 'your going back to the baby factory!' came out. I said 'there is no such thing as the baby factory!' I thought i had out wit them. Turns out on the next block there was a neon sign that had 'Baby Factory' on the side. I was the best behaved child for the next 4 months or so.
My parents decided to educate me early about my period, when I was seven. I didn't quite understand it though- I thought that girls got it only once, and it lasted for 28 days. A few years later I found out the truth and I was quite pissed off.
When I and my classmates were little we used to believe the vagina area on girls was called the China area. Thus, no one ever did a report on China or ate chinese.
My cousin and friend told me that a woman gets pregnant by eating pistacio pudding. Boy was I scared! I just ate pistacio pudding the day before!

We used to beleive that a tadpole swam around in my mum and that was how I was born!

I used to believe that babies came out people's butts, so one day I asked my mom "what happens if you poop when you're giving birth?"

Whan I was in 4th grade I used to belive that sex means to be staying with the penis in the vagina all night!!!
I'm posting this anonomously because even though no-one knows this story, it still makes me blush to repeat it...
One sunny summers afternoon my Mother was sunbathing nude (on her front) in the back yard. Not such a shocking thing to do in a private space and with only your family around. Except when her darling daughter pointed out she had a 'string' near her bottom, and did she want me to get it for her. I don't think she's moved so quickly since!
I used to believe that couples could produce babies by literally sleeping with each other, thanks to TV and later on, a little knowledge of sperm + egg = baby. With my child mentality then, that translated to being amazed at the perserverance of sperms being able to err.. propel themselves across from dad to mom without physical contact. Or they could perhaps crawl over the bedsheet to the egg located somewhere on mom. *sheepish grin*
At some point before my little brother was born (I was almost 2), my parents asked me where babies came from. I told them that babies came from Mexico! Evidently my grandparents were there on vacation at the time
i used to stand in the shower when i was little, like 4, and squeez this pink thing with a white "target locater". I used to play with it the whole time in the shower and refill it with water. intill one day my mom came in to make sure i washed up and she told me that was for her. I got older and i realed i was playing with a douch.
While hanging out with some friends and the older guy that I had a HUGE crush on we decided to play word association. I led a pretty sheltered life until late in high school, and of course when there is more than one male sexual words populate the conversation; the last word said before me was clitoris. I had no idea what this word meant but I remembered from art class that green was the most mentally neutral color (I was told that is why they have “green” rooms for actors and actresses) so I thought it was the safest possible answer. Needless to say my friends were first taken aback but then presumed I must not know what the word meant. To make matters worse I insisted that I did, thinking I was saving face by not admitting my ignorance, then mumbled some excuse for my answer and tried to move the focus off the girl with the ever reddening face. Four years later I am still introduced as “the girl with the green clit” by the guys that were there that night.
when i was young i beleived that when u got married, god automatically made the sperm and the egg unite and kids where made:)
When i was about 3 or 4, i asked this boy at playschool where babies came from, and he told me that girls get pregnant by drinking fizzy soft drinks. For about another 4 yrs i believed him and was terrified of drinking them in case i got pregnant, and even now i cant stand them.
For some reason it never occurred to me that other people drank them and didn't get pregnant. I was dumb..

i used to think that if a girl and a boy peed in the same toilet a baby would grow in it.
When I was around 3 years old, I was sitting in my high chair eating lunch when I said to my mum, "I hope you didn't hurt me", and kept on eating.
She asked what I was talking about, so I proceeded to say to her that if I came from her tummy, she must have eaten me, so I hoped that she didn't hurt me while eating me.
My mum had to try very hard to keep from laughing... after that, she proceeded to explain the basic mechanics of reproduction to me. I wasn't very interested at the time, but I have never had misconceptions about reproduction since, and I was able to clarify some very creative ideas my school friends had gotten into their heads upon attaining school age.
My mom had a friend who was pregnant and she was talking about eating a healthy diet to nourish her child. It didn't make sense to me because I thought unborn babies ate stuff like I did. I thought mommies had little kitchens in their bellies so when the baby got hungry, it would just climb up on the counter and pour itself a bowl of Captain Crunch.
when i came to the US in 7th grade. a classmate asked me if i had period. she believed chinese, unlike americans, might or might have period.
