During the summer when school was out I would have to watch the Soaps with my nannie. Since we lived in the south and this was in the 1960's no one in our family openly discussed how a women became pregnant. But I remember the seeing the ladies on the television sitting on the sofas with their husbands/boyfriends. They would sit close, holding each other and kissing. As the scene would fade out the couple fell backward. Then came the commercials. Well next weeks episode the lady always told the man she was pregnant. So...I figured that as long as I did not sit on a sofa and kiss falling backward I would get pregnant. I kept that belief until I turned 15 years old!

When I first learnt what sex actually was, no-one thought to tell me that movement was involved.
I thought that he just put it in, they stayed like it for a bit - and that was it really.
After being informed that daddy had ben 'sterilised', I genuinely believed he'd has his genitals immersed in boiling water. To this day, the imagery still appeals to me!
I used to believe that babies came out of the girls belly button. I also believed that babies were made when a man and women were old enough and in the same room together the women would just mysteriously become pregnant.
My Mum told me that baby's came out "between your legs". I had this vision of half the baby coming out of the right leg and the other half out of the left leg. I couldn't quite figure out how that happened. Then a friend's Mum told me baby's came out of your bum and I was so annoyed at my Mum for lying to me!!
I understood quite well how babies were made, with the sperm coming out of the man's penis and fertilizing the "little seed" inside the woman. What I could not understand, though, was how the sperm could go through the man's pyjamas. I think I wondered about this until I was at least 12 years old. Nobody ever slept naked in our house, so it never occured to me that you could take off your pyjamas.
When I was 5, my mother was due to have my little brother in a month or so and i overheard a conversation she was having with my aunt about what hospital she was going to go to. Later, I was with my dad and asked him where i was born, and for some unapparent reason, he decided to tell me i was born at the Bonaza restaurant in town. I believed that for a year or so.
For ages, I thought one had to buy a special tube in order to have sex. The tube would be attached to the genitals of each party, and conception would somehow occur, following an unspecified exchange of bodily fluids.
When I was a child I always wondered how babies got out of their pregnant mothers stomachs. So one day I asked my mother and grandmother, who happened to both be in the kitchen at the same time. Now Grandma, being very chaste, tried to change the subject, but my mother began to explain how babies came out "Down There". My grandmother piped up "but not the dirty part". Now for the life of me, I could not believe them, I thought to my self "there's no darn way a baby can get out of there, it's just too small." So I figured that the woman must just vomit it out of her mouth. But to me that didnt' sound right either. So until I was thirteen and my older and much wiser cousins told me ALL about the birth process...I was adamant that babies popped out of your navel and then the whole just closed up again, until the next time it was needed. Boy was I dumb!

i used to believe that womens viginas were hairy bushes growing on there u had to water it aswell.
My parents used to explain the act of reproduction as when the man combines his "seed" with the woman's "egg". My limited understanding of these terms lead me to the conclusion that a man could take just any old seed like a popcorn seed, mash it together with a chicken egg that a woman was holding, and presto, the woman becomes pregnant!
...Yes, I shame to admit that this was after I understood the concept of pregnancy.
I used to rationalize single mothers in my head by reasoning that the woman could just take her own popcorn seeds.
I beleived that when you got to a certain age you went to a special shop and got to chose your boob size and they had them in rows like in a bakery and you went in and said id like a c cup or something.

In 4th grade, a friend of mine told me that the urine that drips off your penis was sperm. Always wipe, he said, so your mom can't tell you're "drooling".

When I was about five or six, I decided that my brother's testicles were for storing pee. And told him so.
I don't remember when I learned about bladders.
when i was younger, i knew that ladies had babies from their vaginas, but i thought that they could get pregnant by making out with a guy. i thought that when people had sex the man would put his penis in the girls ass, i thought that up till when i was 12, i had no idea that was what the vagina was for.. but good thing for sex ed!
when i was little, i walked into the bathroom and looked in the toilet to see blood in it. horrified i ran to my mother and told her what i have found. she said that when girls get a certain age, they get their periods, which makes them pee out blood, and that it was hers. i then thought that when i a girl got her period, she would always have it, but could hold it in like pee.. was i ever wrong.
For the longest time I believed that I had some horrible disease and that I was going to die because every morning I'd wake up and there'd be this clear gooey stuff on my undewear. It wasn't until I was talking about sex with a friend (at the age of 18!) that I realized that it was totally normal. So much for parents explaining things.

When I was a kid I thought oral sex was when adults "talked dirty".
My mates used to think, being males, that babies came from a Women's arsehole, and not here vagina.
contrary to their belief, when they discovered that a women indeed had a vagina and that was where the children came from, they were very shocked.
I personally cant imagine a child pushing its way out of anyones arse, Can you?
By the time I was about six or so, I had gathered the gist of how sex works: the man sticks his penis in the woman, ejaculates (although I didn't know that word) something into her, and then she gets pregnant. However, I didn't exactly understand *where* the man stuck his penis. So, using standard kid logic, I figured that since women don't have a penis, the only remaining bit down there is the anus.
I decided at that point that I never wanted to have kids, because the last thing I wanted to do was shove my genitals into some woman's behind.
