When I was 4 I had an infant cousin who was a little boy. When he was getting his diaper changed I saw this bizarre wrinkly thing between his legs. I didn't have one so of course I thought it would eventually dry up and fall off (like a scab) and my cousin and would be normal.
After I found out that little boys got to keep their wrinkly gizmo I felt a little cheated but I'm not sure why.

i used to think that when i got a hard-on it meant i had to pee.
Until I was 13 I believed a man peed inside the girl to get her pregnant. My Dad have given me the sex talk and had spoken about stuff coming out of a mans penis. Well the only thing that came out of mine at that time was pee so I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 5.
When I was around 6 years old, I was sitting in my mothers car while she was grocery shopping. I found a tampon on the floor that had fallen out of her purse and not knowing what it was, I unwrapped it. Upon seeing the "Tail" I thought I was in luck! A pet mouse! But it was a secret pet mouse! I had it for I don't know how long before I found it missing from my room. Boy..the wonders of make believe friends! lol
i used to believe when iwas young that during periods, one bleeds through thier breasts
I used to believe that babies were bought from shops, and that when my parents told everybody that I was eight pounds three, they meant that was how much they paid for me. I believed that until I was about 7 or 8. Yes, I'm still a muppet!
Growing up the only girl in the family (besides my Mum), I believed I had a "queer thing". I called it that for years as both my brothers and father had penises, and my mothers penis was covered in hair!
I was told when I was little that I was found under a rock. I used to turn over rocks looking for a baby. I ended up learning the truth when I was 9 years old, when my aunt had her first daughter.
When my mom got pregnant with my (first) younger brother, I asked her how the baby was gonna get out of her stomach. She said 'God will make a door for him'. So I pictured a little trap door opening in her tummy. It didn't help the illusion much when she had to have a c-section.......and I saw the stitches from the 'door'.

I used to think that a penis had a bone in it & boys had to arrange it so it would hang down their leg when they put on their pants.
In seventh grade, I became a aware of what they used to call "venereal diseases," but was a little unclear on how you got them.
For some reason I was under the impression that venereal diseases only happened to people who weren't married. Syphilis and gonorrhea were not transmitted person to person; they were instead CAUSED by the act of two unmarried people having sex, the way smoking cigarettes causes cancer.
What I couldn't figure out was how marriage granted a couple immunity to these terrible diseases.

As a child I knew that girls didn't have penises, but I thought they might have testicles.
I also thought that women's breasts contained their lungs.
When I was young, I envisioned a period to be a red dot about a centimeter in diameter. I can't remember how, but I knew it was 'down there' somewhere. So when I heard of a girl having her period, I would visualize this red dot appearing there. I thought that once they got it, they just happened to have a red dot there, for no particular reason, but that it was a part of growing up.
When I was around 10 or 11 a letter in Ann Landers column used the word homosexual. The only other word I could think of was homocide, which to me meant killing someone on purpose. For a long time I thought a homosexual was someone who acted sexy on purpose.
Before my grandma told me about the birds and the bees, I believed that babies were born wrapped in blankets. I got this idea from watching shows where a female character was having a baby. They never showed the icky stuff, they would always cut to the the woman holding the baby wrapped in a blanket. So....that's how I got the idea that babies were born with blankets.
When I was about 10 years old, I knew that a penis had to go in a vagina to make a baby, but all I could imagine a man could do when his penis was inside was to urinate. I was so sure that the words "God shed his grace on me" meant that he peed inside of a woman. Doesn't seem very logical now, but it made sense to me at the time.
I used to believe…
that if you kissed you would be pregnant. I was eight and worried that a boy kissed me when I was 6. I was 10 when I learned the truth
I don’t know how old I was but one day I thought I saw pubic hair. I ran out and told my Mom and Dad I had hair down below. My Mom told me there was not any as she gave me a bath last night. I said maybe some water got in and grew some.
i used to believe that babies came out of your belly button on a plastic tray. was i shocked or what when i had my son! heehee
