My mom was typically skittish about explaining sex and reproduction to me. At some point she must have explained having babies as something that happened after a man and a woman got married. I have no concious memory of this, but I literally believed that having a baby was not possible until a woman was married. I was completely bewildered when my favorite babysitter couldn't babysit me anymore because, as my mother put it, she was going to have a baby. My reaction: "But how can she have a baby? She's not married!"

One day my son (10) excitedly told me that he knew where babies come from. I was anxious to hear his response and was tickled when he told me that babies come out of there Mom's butts.
I don't know how I came to belive this theory. All babies are born as girls. You become a "boy" if you sneeze,or cough too hard.It pops out,and you're done being a girl.I used to dread having a cold. When I would sneeze,I would rush to the bathroom, just to make sure I hadn't "popped".

My dad was uncircumcized...and I AM circumcized...Imagine my shock when he had to teach me to pee standing up. I thought every boy had a different penis!
Oh this is SO embarrassing...When I was 17 I was in study hall talking about how when my female hamster goes pee the fur in that area was wet for a while and I thought it was gross. My two female friends said "well excuse her! They don't make toilet paper for hamsters!" I said "No, she didn't poop...she peed" I had NO IDEA that girls had to wipe after peeing AND pooping!!! It just never crossed my mind! I also thought until I was 15 that when you had sex with a girl there was only one hole...the hole you have sex with and they pee out of were the same thing. I knew NOTHING about girls.
When I was very young, I knew about sex, to a degree, but I had no idea that it involved taking your clothes off. Once, while watching a movie, the stars were making out and took their shirts off. I asked my mom why they did that and she said that it was so they could get closer to each other. I realized later that she was right, in a round about way. I actually asked my sex ed teacher how people who wore pajamas had sex. He had to tell me that people took them off first. Duh! I still can't believe that it never occurred to me.
WheI was 11 my mother gave me a book about sex. But it was very slanted toward a religious viewpoint and never mentioned arousal. Since it said that sex could only occur when a man's body was a certain way, I assumed that men's bodies were cyclical, just like women's.
When I was a child, my mother referred to vaginas and penises as "pee-ers". You use it to pee, therefore, it is a pee-er! I truly believed that this was the technical term for them. It took years for me to understand that she only called them that since peeing is what they are used for.
Imagine my dismay when I when I started school and heard my teachers talking about being nice when playing with your your peers.

Until maybe I was in grade 6, I used to believe that babies "came out" through the anus. I think about it sometimes & laugh at my stupidity.
I used to believe…
im a guy. i used to think that girls got their physicals where the doctor would put his finger in a girls vagina and tell her to turn her head and cough. then squeeze her boobs to check their firmness.
When I was in the second grade I heard something at school that showed me I didn't understand where babies came from. When I got home from school I asked my mother to explain it. She got all uptight and sat me down in the living room to explain it to me. Dad was at work. She told me that when two people who are married want to have a baby, the man inserts his penis into the woman and it creates a baby inside the woman. I didn't know about erections and didn't understand how what she said was possible. I asked her how difficult it was for the man to put his penis into the woman. She told me it was "a very simple operation". To me, an operation meant going to the hospital and having doctors do stuff to you. I asked her how long the man and woman had to stay in the hospital. She said they could do it without going to the hospital.
I left the discussion with the knowledge that when a man and woman wanted to have a baby they had to go to the doctor's office, where the man's penis could be stuck into the woman in a "very simple operation". That knowledge made me understand that sex was something to be dreaded, because no one wants to go to the doctor for an operation. That discussion messed me up for many years.
When I was little and had just learned how to read, I was at the store with my Mom and thought that Feminine Napkins were napkins that only ladies used at the dinner table!!!
I WAS A CURIOUS KID WITH VERY OPEN MINDED PARENTS SO I ASKED MOM IF SEX HURTED. SHE SAID THAT IN FACT IT COULD HURT REAL BAD THE FIRST TIME IF YOU DIDN'T DO IT RIGHT AND YOU WEREN'T WET ENOUGH. IMAGINE HOW MANY TIMES I WONDERED HOW MUCH WATER I WAS SUPPOSED TO POUR ON MY PENIS TO KEEP IT FROM HURTING!!
When I was a little girl my Aunt told me if I would rub chicken doo doo on my boobs they would be very large. Yes, as bad as I hate to admit it I tried it and their is definitely no truth to the tale!

My mom used to call my vagina a "tudy". I never could watch "Facts of Life" with a straight face. A girlfriend's mom called it "Margaret". I don't know why.
For a few years, I thought a "blowjob" and "sucking" someone's penis were 2 different things. I understood and enjoyed the sucking one, but try as I might (and believe me I tried), I couldn't figure out, for the life of me, how blowing on it worked.
When I was around 10 or 11, a friend told me he was going to get a "piece of ass". At the time, I was horrified, thinking somehow that you stuck a spoon in a girl's rectum and got a piece of it. When he asked me if I wanted him to get one for me too, not wanting to seem uncool, I replied, "not today."
I remember at about 6, I used to play doctor with a little girl and I thought my penis looked like a hot dog, while her vagina sort of looked like a hot dog roll. I didn't know exactly how or why you would do it, but I thought they were made like that purposely, so the hot dog would fit in the roll.
When my mom was pregnant with my younger brother, I went through her day planner calendar, drawing festive little pictures for each holiday.
For Labor Day, I drew a picture of a pregnant lady lying on a hospital bed. I knew the "giving birth" sense of the word, but not the more general "hard work" sense of it.
Everyone thought that was very amusing.

When I was 5 me and my best friend believed that when we were asleep a man from Mexico named Jessie would come and put us into boxes and give us sex changes.
