I used to think that oral sex was when the guy put his penis in the girl's belly button

I grew up in a small town and when I was around 9, walking home from school I came across two giggly high schoolers. Turns out it was their friend's b-day and they'd given her a box of condoms. I walked on, puzzled as to how a condominium would fit into a box and impressed that they'd had the $$ to do so. It wasn't until I moved to the big city and got sex ed in school that I figured that one out.

I used to believe that babies were put on backorder for 9 months and when they arrived, the hospital would give you a call and you could go pick it up. I just thought the big belly part was because you ate too much because you were really excited about getting a new baby.

One day me and a friend was walking and i was on my period and she asked me if my pad fell out, would i pick it up?

My 9 year old cousin asked me what was a douche? I told him it was something to clean the wax out of your ear with.

When I was in sixth grade I thought that "oral" sex meant talking about sex.

When I was little and I got a "hard-on" I use to show my parents and say look "magic"!

when i was around six years old, i believed that because my baby brothers (my only siblings) and my best friend (a boy) all had inverted nipples -- and i did, too -- that i was really a boy and some mistake had been made in the determination that i was a girl.

Until my late teens, I didn’t know that there were two “exits” in the female genital area; I used to believe that urine & menses came out of the exit – the vagina! When I finally saw a picture that showed the urethra – I was shocked, stunned & completely grossed out!!! I still get the shivers thinking about it.

when i was about 4 or 5 my mum had a new boyfriend over. i was playing around in he washroom for some unknown reason and found her maxi pads. i walked out with it stuck to my chin like a beard "what is this mum?" i asked. needless to say her new boyfriend didn't last :)

I used to believe that, since heterosexual men are attracted to heterosexual women and vice versa, therefore homosexual men would be attracted to homosexual women and vice versa.

It seemed PERFECTLY logical at the time.

I use to think that condoms had to be used because whenever a man and a woman slept together they automatically had sex and couldn't stop it. Why else would you need them.. there's no reason to intentionally have sex if you don't want to become pregnant.

I was thinking on the school playground one day and thought I was brilliant. I had a runny nose and thought 'well, stuff comes out of your nose and stuff comes out of your penis. Both can be messy so why is it that our noses can be uncovered in public while the other part can't be?' I thought I'd run around with my nose covered and no pants on to show the world that it should be no more of a taboo than exposing your runny nose. I thought I'd bring something the next day to cover my nose and start the revolution and I'd be a hero. I told my mother about my great idea and she explained why I shouldn't expose that part. I never went through with it either.

One time I found my Dad's Playboy magazine. My young mind couldn't comprehend that a woman would want to have her photo taken when naked! My Dad told me that they weren't really naked... all the parts (the breasts and such) were fake and were strapped on to the body. They were actually wearing a bathing suit underneath!

When I was a kid, I used to think that a girl's period was her nipple because a nipple looked like a period!

When I was 7, I was told by a classmate that having sex was when a man got on top of a woman, and both had to be naked. I thought that a man had to climb on top of her literally, like him having to stand on her shoulders. I thought about that for a while and realized that standing would be too difficult, so I came to the conclusion that the man had to sit on the womans shoulders. I thought sex was hard work to accomplish.
I used to think that position must be very akward since a man is much stronger than a woman and better able to support her weight. I thought it should have been vice-versa, with the woman sitting on top of the man.
I don't know why I never thought of them laying down first, THEN the man laying on top of the woman.
Truthfully, when I was a few years older and found out how it actually was done, I was relieved.

Before I found out what sex was (by going to the library and reading about it)... I thought that you could only have a child if you got married. I thought God put a cell in the woman's body that would grow once she went through the whole wedding ceremony thing... boy was I wrong

I recall my mother telling me when I was much younger (probably aobut 6-ish) that babies happened when two people "love each other a lot".

That kind-of scared me, since church sermons would say things like "love thy neighbour", and relatives would ask if I loved them/my family/whatever. I couldn't say it, and would just half-heartedly nod.
Similarly it has taken me a long time before I could write "with love from..." at the bottom of a card!

I think that my head has been screwed up right into my early 20's - not a good way to help relationships along!

I used to believe that ALL babies were born via C-section...It never crossed my mind that babies would come out of the same place that urine comes out.
