When I was younger I thought only little boys had (you know...) and grown up men had something else...i didn't know what, but it not the same thing little boys had..hehe

Up until the sixth grade I thought tampons were a form of birth control. My teacher laughed at the idea, explaining that if you tried that, it wouldn't leave any room for the penis. In hindsight, I guess you could give me partial credit.
when i was about 10 or so i started to feel these strange nots in my breasts. i was terrified, you see i thought i had breast cancer. well i always heard that if you felt lumps on your breast that it could be cancer. i sat my mom down for the bad news "mom" i began, " i think i've got breast cancer!" she asked me why i thought that and i told her. right away she reached over and started feeling my breasts and started laughing hysterically. she said you dont have breast cancer your growing boobs!
When I was in Elementary school, a friend's mom discussed her birth control pills in our company. My friend and I decided that if you didn't take the pills or forgot one that you would automatically become pregnant.
When my parents would take me grocery shopping at a small store in a nearby town I used to see a poster in the window listing the danger signs of cancer. I was about 8 years old and used to read that poster every week while my mother was checking out, even though I had no idea what cancer was but understood that it was BAD. When my breasts began to develop I thought I was growing the lumps mentioned on the poster. My Irish Catholic mother, probably one of the most narrow minded persons on the face of the earth, had never mentioned one word about maturation. For weeks (or months?), I was sure I was going to DIE and, because I had no emotional connection to my parents in any way, could not bring up the subject to them. It was only one of many of my life's disconnects brought about by my mother's rabid and repressive Catholicism. Believe me, there were many others. All religions should be banned.
In the 3rd grade a few of us girls and boys paired off declaring we were going steady. Trying desperately to emulate teenagers' "going steady" behavior, we went to the movies sitting with arms around each other. When my boyfriend put his arm around me, hand hanging down towards my (barely developed) breast, I remember having panicky thoughts like "Oh my gosh, is this sex? Oh no, I'm going to get pregnant." For weeks after, I spent hours in front of the mirror wondering if my tummy was getting big and how I would explain this to my parents.

when my 5th grade sex ed teacher was talking about dialation during childbirth, I raised my hand and asked" what does her eye-sight have to do with anything?"
Our babysitter told my brother that he would go blind if he touched his own penis. I distictly remember him (he was 6, I was 4) asking if he could only touch it enough to need glasses instead of going blind.
I remember when I was about 4 (my sister was a baby about 1 year old) that babies were born wearing those little sleepers- pink for girls and blue for boys.
I used to believe that vagina was pronounced va-geena. When my mom corrected me, I told her she was wrong. Amazing how much smarter I was than my mom in those days...

I used to believe that you took The Pill to get pregnant. It took a very confusing letter to Ann Landers to prompt me to ask my mom about it.
I used to think babies came out of a woman's bottom, and can still remember asking my mum about it. She put me right and told me about the "front bottom". I would have been 11 or so at the time, quite naive for my age
When I was little, I thought that all girls when they became a certain age (21 or so) got pregnant. They were very unlucky if they were not married by then. I remember watching a show on TV and feeling sorry for the main character because she had not managed to find a husband before she became pregnant.
I used to believe that the size of a grown up boy's penis is really the same size as a 6 years old one, tiny. I've never seen neither in movies nor in real life a grown up's penis until I met my 1st boyfriend at the age of 16 and was absolutely shocked. I told him, "there's no way I let this inside my house.."
I used to believe that babies are being born through a little hole between the bellybutton and the genitals, and that later the doctor stitches it. It was also only at the age of 10 I first heard about a thing called "period" and "masturbation". I remember I asked my mother what is it and when she started to answer me I got so embarrassed and said "Okay okay I get it!" before she even succeeded to complete her explanation.
When I was little, I believed that men and women made babies by rubbing their tummies together. I thought that a man and woman had to be naked and kissing in bed and once they started rubbing their tummies, the lady would get pregnant!

my little bro (then 6) wouldnt eat his beans so i told him that if he did his penis would grow, he is now 16 and still eats them
I used to believe that sex was against the law- and that when grown-ups had sex to make babies they were breaking the law -but the police would overlook it as long as they weren't caught "in the act."

i used believe that if someone had sex they would have a baby straight away
My Dad (G'd Bless Him) always told me that he bought me in Myers Bargain Basement. I always imagined rows of babies wrapped up in bunny rugs waiting to be bought! When I 'grew up' I always used to tease him that he could have at least said that I was bought at GEORGES!
